Our washer buttons wont work. They are stuck on and even start wont work. We cant even get them to get to service mode!
I tried un pluging the machine for few hours and it will work for 3-4 load and then it will lock up again
I agree with the number two solussion, I change my control pannel (the plastic part works find now)
The flat wire that connects the membrane panel to the control board problably has the small wires broken or shorted like mine. took a while to figure it out. the replacement can be found for under 200 bucks. I order the part from a web site but it was only 5 bucks i figure i bought only the plastic cover without the membrane buttons, i seen the right part later for 169.00 with the membrane. I would like to buy a seperate membrane panel and rewire it to the control board but this may be beyond my ability especially without a wireing diagram for the membrane panel. any help with this project email me at r2d3p0atHotmail.com
It sounds like they are stuck with detergent or something sticky, only solution is to dismantle, this is only a job for an electrically competant person.

We have had this same problem. Just today we had a repairman come take a look and it has something to do with the control panel and they are going to need to replace a part within that. We are looking at around $300 to $400 to fix it!!!!!! I bought mine in 2001, I thought Maytag was "built to last" ????
My washer will work, but won't let me change the water temperature. Is there something I can do in service mode to reset this?
My washer blew the motor control fuse, replaced board & motor with updated kit. Washed a few loads fine, then main control panel "locked up". Control panel displays light soil setting, won't change settings, won't go into service mode. Gentleman that sold me motor kit suggested main control board could have been damaged when motor shorted & fuse blew. Replaced main control board only to have same problem. Please help! I have the same problem. The main control board was replaced but still wont work. The buttons don't change anything and the start button blinks continuously. The same problem was happening with my dryer for a short period of time but it is now working. The washer wont respond to anything. It will go into the 'advertising mode' but not the diagnostic mode.
I bought my neptune may of 02 it was my second one the first one went back on the lemon law. Now I can't get mine to do anything. It lights up and then will change from one cycle to another and wont start and if you get it to start it jumps from one thing to another. Repair came out didnt even test anything said it was a control board ordered three different control boards and other parts. I got tired of no phone calls on repair est. just a list of parts that I told them to forget and went got a GE. This netunes are junk and maytag is not standing behind us .
Same thing here service man came out said it could be led membrane touch pad or the main control board if you all replaced the control board and still have the same problem is worth spending $500.00 purchace in 2005 is there any warrenty on this
can't control the settings some won't move some will won't start
Most of the button lights light up, and no matter what I push the washer beeps and won't do anything. We've tried unplugging, and still have the same problems when we plug it back in.

Similar problem here. The lights come on and blink but does not do anything else.
I cant do a load of laundry until the LOCKED light is off but mine now just started to stay on and I cant do anything of turn the light off...?? How do I fix this?
