Hi,
Check if the replacement battery is detected by the computer. The same can be seen with an icon on the lower right hand side of the screen in the notification area , there would be an icon of the battery.
If the battery is not detected, the problem could be a faulty battery or battery bay.
if the battery is detected, but doesnot charge the problem could be a faulty Ac adpater, check with a good known Ac adapter.

SOURCE: New battery wont charge.

It's sounding like a motherboard problem to me.
You've done all you can--the circuit on your motherboard that controls the charging is evidently gone bad on you.

sounds like your DC coonector came loose from the system board.it is a common problem with laptops,

Problem symptoms:

  1. Laptop randomly shuts down without any warning.
  2. Power LED and battery charge LED start flickering when you wiggle the power cord or the AC adapter tip on the back or your laptop.
  3. The battery will not get charged.
  4. When you plug AC adapter, the laptop appears to be dead and there is no LED activity at all (DC-IN jack on the system board is broken).
here is how to repair:

Compaq A900 i replaced the dc jack the laptop wont charge bought new battery and charger and still wont turn on

A battery that will not charge may be as a result of an AC adapter failure, a system board failure, or a battery failure. You should therefore try to troubleshoot the power supply, the System Board and the battery. You can read more through the following site.

It wont turn on i even bought a new batery and still nothing what could it be?

Is your new battery charged? You may need to place it in the charger or hook the camera to the AC power and leave it overnight. If you have a charging cradle try to charge the battery that way. Sometimes that arrive dead.

Hp compaq 6720 laptop, wont charge battery, bought new battery have same problem. have tried several different chargers and they are all working, but not charging battery

If the notebook does not charge even after replacing it with new battery and checking with several chargers then it is laptop power jack issue.
You may need to replace it. However to confirm the issue is with power jack just remove the battery and try to power on the notebook only with AC adapter. If it does not then it is the power jack which is allowing the ac power to be charged.

If your notebook is in warranty then you can ship it to HP and if it is out of warranty then check the link below, you can purchase the power jack of the laptop from here.

Hello, I have an IBM ThinkPad t40 and my battery will not charge. It runs on AC power but shuts off as soon as AC is removed.

You should replace the battery. I wish I had a better answer, but that's pretty straight forward.

Sounds to me like the transformer circuit that enables the batery to charge. If you have bought your machine within the last 12 months it should still be covered by warranty so go back to the supplier. If not covered I wouod still try as it is not beyond reasonable expecations that the machine will operate perfectly in very way for more than 1 year.

Dell 9400 wont show AC power icon

If the computer is connected to an electrical outlet, the about10.jpg light operates as follows:
  • Solid green: The battery is charging.

  • Flashing green: The battery is almost fully charged.

If the computer is running on a battery, the about41.jpg light operates as follows:
  • Off: The battery is adequately charged (or the computer is turned off).

  • Flashing orange: The battery charge is low.

  • Solid orange: The battery charge is critically low.
Looks like the AC adaptor is faulty.

Toshiba Laptop Wont Boot.

yes,if the battery doesn't charge with the ac adapter or turn on with it pluged in.it is common on comuters for the power adapter on the motherboard to go bad after a while.downfall of the laptop is that it is very hard to replace it(desktop easy because it is not built into the motherboard)you can either buy a new motherboard or a new laptop.if you got any more questions feel free to email me at [email protected]
