Asked about a problem with the spin cycle. Was told the problem was in the control board. Could not find it in parts Would that be the same as the dial for selecting the wash cycle

The dial is rarely broken. The cycle and the times for each part of the cycle are control by the main control board. If your spin cycle isn't working it might be the control board depending on what exactly the spin cycle is doing. The boards are usually kind of expensive (about $150).
You can take the chance and buy a board from an online place like:
http://www.appliancepartspros.com/search.aspx?q=control%20board
(which gives returns if you have the wrong part).

First of all though, you should go to YouTube and type in "replacing a control board for a GE washer" and you will get plenty of troubleshooting and instructional videos to help determine which part actually is failing, and to get that repair done

Good luck

LG WM3987HW Combo - drum is filling with water during dry cycle.

Sears Parts Direct is one source of the parts diagrams, https://www.searspartsdirect.com/model/1vc37q1bdj-003204/lg-wm3987hw-washer-parts . See the Dispenser assembly parts diagram for the water inlet valve. If you can watch the entire cycle, try turning off the shut-off valves for the washer inlet hoses after the rinse cycle and before the dry cycle starts. Water should not flow into the washer/dryer with the shut-offs closed.

I've seen inlet valve solenoids fail in the open position or in the closed position. I've never seen a control board that sent open messages randomly. (Sometimes, there is damage to the control board or corrosion or damaged wiring that stops the control board from sending the open/closed message to the solenoid.)

I hope this helps.

Error code E75 in al frigidair affinity FAFW3801Lw3. What I need to do? help please. Thanks!!!!

E75 has nothing to do with the spin cycle, pump, door switch, or anything like that. E75 means there is an issue with your temperature sensor circuit. That is part of your control board, which means that the control board will need to be ordered and replaced to fix the E75 error code.

My electrolux front load washer model number, EWFLW65HIWO, gets to the spin cycle and spins slowly. At minute 4, it stops, never entering the super fast spinning. However, if I put the washer on the Spin...

Sounds like the timer and control board are not communicating correctly and efficiently when in a normal cycle. You would need a professional to diagnose the control board and see if that is the only part needing replacement.

Bosch Nexxt 100 series front load washer will not spin. The machine will go through the entire wash cycle from wash-rinse-spin-finish but does not spin. I tried a separate spin cycle and nothing happens....

Just going on these symptoms, you may need a new control/timer.
Inside the control /timer are electrical contacts, and when your machine gets to that part of the cycle, the contacts are not closing to allow the cycle to complete.
If you have circuit board, you will perhaps need a new one of those.
If you do not, probably a control/timer assembly.
If you type "SeasPartsDIrect" into you computer's search engine, and then type your complete model number into the blank when you are asked for it, you may look at the schematic and see whether you have a control / timer or a circuit board.
God bless your efforts.

Open the rear panel and look for a broken belt and does the motor spins. In case motor doesn't spin, check on its tags for 115/220V. Let me know with your results, for further assistance if will be needed. Good luck!
