Power 100 on display - LG Over-the-Range Microwave

Place the items inside the unit and close the door. Set the cook time, then press the "Power Level" button. When the display asks for input, press "5" for 50% power. Then press START.

Enter the cooking time. Press the Power Level button until the desired level is displayed - Level 1 = 100%, Level 2 = 90%, ... Level 10 = 10%.). Press Start button.

put a cup of water in the cavity and set for 1 minute, after which time you can feel the temperature. Switch to the other power setting and repeat with a fresh cup of water. This will either be hotter than the first or much cooler. Most microwaves use 100% power for full and 30% power for defrost, with 50% usually being lower or medium power. Straight-forward physics. The more power the hotter the water becomes. Hope that helps.

Kenmore Elite 36 " over tne counter microwave is supplied by LG made by Gold Star, made in China. It's main problem is the high voltage inverter board supplyed by Sears Parts. If you get a F-9 code on your microwave display screen and the micro quits it's probably this board. Reset the machine by pulling the power plug and waiting an hour. If it is the high voltage board is at fault it will probably fail after 45 seconds of start up. This part is really hard to get at but is less than $100. A qualified technician should be able to remove and repair this item in less than hour. Some techs will quote you $300 labor, don't buy it, it should cost a $100 or less. No need to buy another microwave."

You can usually find exploded views and order parts by entering your model number at the Sears parts site.

BUT once you have the part number from the Sears site, you can often get the parts cheaper here.

An attempt has been made to program the oven for more time than allowed.
1. Press STOP/RESET pad.
NOTE: Maximum cooking time is 60 minutes except when cooking with full
power (100%). In case of full power (100%), maximum cooking time is 20
minutes.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for maybe an hour then try again.

It looks like you would enter the cooking time then press POWER 1 to 10 times. Once = 100%, twice = 90%, thrice = 80%, and so on, and "PL#" will appear in the display where "#" is the selected power level. On some models, twice = 80% and thrice = 60%, etc. and "80%", or "60%", etc., will appear in the display. Then press START. Did that do it?
