I cant get video on my compaq skype to work - Compaq Presario CQ60-220US PC Laptop

This model Compaq laptop does not have a built-in WEB cam.

To use video call with Skype you need to purchase an USB WEBcam, connect the WEBcam into the Compaq laptop's USB port and install the WEBcam driver that came with the WEBcam.
Then configure Skype - select the WEBcam and mic.

check if the one you are calling has working mic. if yes, try reinstalling skype maybe there is a problem with the program. in skype setup your audio settings mic and sound device. try echo and sound test service

update microphone drivers!
and check skype micropfone settings.

-Enable Skype Video. Check the box next to "Enable Skype Video."
-pen the pull-down menu of devices. Select your webcam from the list.
-Click "Test Webcam." This will open the test page where you should see what your friends will see when they video chat with you.
-Click the "Webcam settings" button below to adjust the settings.

You can only use the webcam with one device at a time? If you are sure the webcam is working properly shut down the software specifically for your webcam.

Log into Skype as normal.

Do you see the video call options in Skype?
In Skype you can check what you see in the following path?
Tools/ Options/ Video Settings/ Camera
Is you webcam listed if not link it using the option here.

yes sir,you need to have a microphone, i believe there is a microphone port on you computer..

Its due to your internal laptop MIC's failure! Plz check at any Compaq Service station! Becoz its internal hardware error! Becoz there r no seperate drivers for MIC! If your speakers are working great then MIC should work or else try to get repaired it!
