Hello, you just can find the driver on the site from compaq and download it. Maybe if there is a search device on the site you just type type your version and which audio card you have....

You do not have the proper Driver installed. You must go to HP Compaq, input the hardware device, and got to the specifications where you can select Drivers and choose the most current Audio Driver for that card or motherboard. Install and you are in business.

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound,video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers click start control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers make sure you have selected the (appropriate speakers) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick ithope this helps

What I could recon from your question is that your audio driver is not installed in your PC.

Please be informed that any Driver software depends upon the PC make, Motherboard type and Operating System. You need to know all the three information's to do get going.

Please find the Driver software's of your Audio and video inside the installation disk provided with the PC at the time of purchase. As you have not mentioned your PC Model Number I am unable to give you the direct download link. However you can download the same by visiting the website of the company that manufactured the PC.

Even here you need to be careful to download the correct software for your PC. You need to be exact with the PC make and Model number and the OS that you are using.

To install just Double clock on the driver setup.exe file and go on clicking 'Next' until you get the 'Finish' option and restart the PC.

Right click my computer then properties then hardware then device manager then see if the sound drivers are installed properly if not installed properly you will see a question mark if disable you will see red X id disable enable the if the driver is marked with yellow question mark then reinstall the driver if the driver is installed and no marks indicated go to the speaker icon in the task bear and open the volume control and see wether mute is enabled if enabled disble them
