Need to re-attach spring in HP officejet!

Are there any printer hardware technicians out there who can help me? there is a small plastic piece on the lower back left side of the carriage. It moves up and down when the sled is coming out or retracting. The carriage is supposed to move over it when it is going in or coming out of the service station. It seems that this piece is supposed to hold the carriage in place, when the carriage docks all the way on the right side of the of the rail. I need to know what this piece is called. it is hooked on to a small spring, but I can not tell where that spring is hooked at the other end of it. It must be somewhere on that sled. I was trying to fix a recurrent carriage jam, and I noticed that this piece was at times physically blocking the movement of the carriage, from going all the way onto the right, where it could line up with the service center. I tried to jiggle it to see if I could click it into a position where it would stay so it would not block the carriage. unfortunately, although I was trying to be very careful, I knocked the spring off the tiny extension on which it was hooked. This spring is about 3/4 of an inch long, when not extended. It has a complete circular hook at both ends. In order to get more help on possibly fixing the carriage jam problem, I must re-attach that spring! I need some sort of diagram to see where to hook the other end of the spring.

i'd say that when doing surgery at this level, it's always handy to have the guide to surgery for printers.

I'd say that this patient is muerto.

Hp laserjet 1320 after printing blank paper appair

Hi Naveed Khan

It looks like any toner inserted will have the same problem. You need to check the left side springs of High Voltage. There are two springs inside. One you can find on the left side of the registration assy. with a small steel piece attached on top this is a spring causing you the trouble. Try to pull the spring out from the plastic as the cartridge is not able to get the high voltage it is not able to perform the Image formation.

Thanks

MF4350d gives a paper jam error when it has no paper in it.

I hired a technician who came to house and showed me where the paper jam was hidden... found technician on craigslist for $50 flat rate, came out on Saturday. He solved the paper jam problem in 20 minutes. One place to check for paper jam you cannot see until to look behind a hinged plastic flap above the cartridge area. Remove cartridge.Above the cartridge area is a width-wide plastic piece, about 1 to 1 1/2 inch wide from top to bottom, hindged along the top edge, moves but is attached along the two lower corners of the piece by small springs (one at each corner) to the housing of the machine. You cannot easily lift the plastic flap up to look behind it for paper jam until you remove the springs. I used forceps to remove them. Tweezers may work. Don't lose them! Once you remove the springs you can easily lift up the plastic flap (it is hinged) and look behind it into the crevices for any paper. That is where we found a small piece of paper. We needed a skinny forceps to reach into the crevice to get the paper out.

X-spring tab broken in ink receptacle (HP officejet 7310)

I think you right. There are a lot of small parts which are finely tuned in a printer and most likely something else is still affected.
You probably are better off purchasing a new unit, unless you have the time and patient to figure it out.
Good Luck!

HP 7410xi small plastic piece in print cartridge carrier broken

If the spring did not damage the carriage flex I would suggest just using some epoxy to hold the spring properly in place. If the spring did damage the flex (as shown in this picture) then you might contact HP and enquire about an extended warranty for this issue. In the US call HP at 1-800-HPINVENt.

Plastic piece came loose inside printer

The parking mechanism front spring has a tendency to come off in the C4x family of printers. Re-attaching it is a fiddly task not covered in the service manual. The pictures show: a general shot of the parking mechanism from the front; a shot of the actuation lever, illustrating where the front spring attaches to it; a view into the empty parking mechanism compartment showing where the lug is to which the bottom end of the front sprint attaches; a suggested tool for re-attaching the front spring, made from a large paper clip.

Proceed as follows, using a torch where necessary: lift the parking mechanism out its holder; be careful not to detach the drain pipe. Using the tool, attach one end of50f32be.gif54a9806.gif88c5669.gif9145528.gif the spring to the lug at the bottom of the parking mechanism compartment. Remove the tool and leave the spring laying at the bottom with one end attached to the lug. Replace the parking mechanism in its holder, with the actuation lever in place. Now for the fiddly bit! Peer into the compartment to locate the free end of the spring and get the tool on it. Pull the spring until you can put the free end over the lug on the actuation lever. Remove the tool.

Remove and Check Color Cartridge

Last night I spent an hour with HP Technician on-line trying to diagnose the problem with my 2 year old HP Officejet 7210 All-In-One. After trying everything HP came up to resolve the problem, the technician determined it is a hard failure in the electronics hardware. Since my warranty is expired they offered me a deal on the L7680 All-In-One. My 7210 was very lightly used (still on first set of cartridges). If this is the quality of the latest generation of HP hardware, I am probably going to look at something else.

Printer jams

Have you checked the paper path for anything which might be lodged there? A small crumpled piece of paper, paper clip, or even some broken piece of plastic from inside the printer itself. Are the rubber rollers extremely dirty/covered with paper dust? Depending on the design of the printer, one set of rollers may be spring loaded, and if the spring is broken, disconnected etc, the tension on the roller of course goes away. Anything like this will prevent proper paper movement through the printer
