Replacing the thermostat on LSE7806 dryer

I took off the little panels on the back hoping I could see the thermostat to replace it, but I guess it will not be that easy.  I gather I have to take off the back cabinet.  It looks like the back and sides are one piece.  Can i take this back/side piece off withour taking off the front?  Do i take out all the screws on the back and top front to get the cabinet off?  Can you tell me how the cabinet comes off?

Hi I have a dryer (Speed Queen) and I took off the front panel and cleaned everything and even in back, When I turn it on, I see the flame, But it does not get hot enough inside to dry the clothes, Is...

Clothes not drying, but dryer runs & heats
1. Defective operating thermostat---test thermostat,, replace if defective
2. Fan or it's pulley loose on shaft--tighten set screw
3. Incorrect heat or timer setting--reset timer
4. Clothes too wet when placed in dryer--wring clothes before putting them in dryer
5. clogged lint screen or duct ( little air motion)---clean

Dryer still runs it just isn't getting warm

The heating element is wired in series with a thermal cut-off and a high-limit thermostat both located on the heater housing. The thermal cut-off blows open when the high-limit thermostat fails to cycle off in order to regulate the heating element temperature. When the thermal cut-off is blown, power to the element is cut-off and the dryer will not heat. Replacing both thermal cut-off and the high-limit thermostat if the former is indeed blown. Kenmore electric dryer model 42890 wont heat up or stay running, is it thermister

Dryers need airflow to work properly.

Unplug the unit and pull away from wall. Use flashlight, gloves, etc. as neccessary to inspect ducting for dryer lint. Remove any and all lint. Use a shop vac to clean vents and area. You might also need to use the shop vac to vaccuum out or blow out ducting.

Another typical solution is to replace the two thermostat controllers.

Parts available from Sears parts online for around $20 each.

Unplug Dryer and remove back panel from unit (8-10 screws.) A Simple pair of pliers will do the trick. Use shop vac to remove any and all dryer lint from inside unit. Thermostats look to be central right and easily accessible.

I am not a professional by any means, but I was a mechanical engineer on a nuclear submarine's reactor plant and I did work for 6 months installing and light repair on Maytag appliances.

I have seen several websites with info that supports the problem being the thermostats. My guess is that I would treat this like replacing headlights for your car. Never replace just one, because the older one will not be as bright and will most likely fail in the near future. For the low cost and high effort to go back and replace a second thermostat...you might as well replace both at the same time.

The squirl cage on the dryer of my model LSE7806

Howdy,

Absolutely should be positively "locked" to the motor shaft. There should be a set screw in the collar of the squirrel cage mount. Either it is missing of has loosened. Please tighten (or replace) this set screw. Also, it is very IMPORTANT to make sure that if there is a flat machined surface on the motor shaft, that you align the squirrel cage (and set screw) so that the set screw will seat firmly and squarely against this flat surface. This design ensures that once properly aligned and set, that the squirrel cage will follow the motor shaft faithfully. Also, it is recommmended to apply some thread sealant (Locktite) to the threads of the set screw so this will not happen in the future. Vibration can be the cause of this.

Good luck,

J

Dryer run won't heat up took off back panel don't know which tube contain element. if that not the problem don't know where to locate thermal fuse i need pictures diagram illustration

Hi, if this is an electric dryer and is a whirlpool model, the element is located in a housing on the right side (looking at the back)
You can run the dryer and check with voltage meter to see if it is getting 240V. If there is voltage, replace the element. If there is not voltage, check the thermostats and the fuse for continuity. If they do not have continuity, replace them.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Whirlpool electric dryer not heating

I had the same problem today. After stumbling through the schematics (they were taped up behind the main control panel on top of the dryer) and ohming out a bunch of different parts with my multimeter, I finally took the heater element out and found that it had burned in two in a spot (I could see it once I took the element off of the dryer). I replaced it for about $80. The guy at the parts store said that is usually caused by a clogged vent, which is probably the case for mine, since my vent is poorly designed. I hope this helps someone.
