Reversing the door. Just purchased this dryer and

I pretty sure someone told you wrong. You cant change the door itself.... the door must stay in its orginial position. Soooo, the only way you could do that is switch the hinges from one side to the other but I have never known that to be an option on dryers because, door switches, thermostats and wiring would need to be moved also.

Kenmore gas dryer model 110 775 42600 won't heat what is wrong

ELECTRIC Dryer no heat or little heat: Check your venting and lint basket. Check blower for lint build up and blower wheel obstruction., test by trying to turn the wheel manually by hand (should be easy) May have to remove cabinet or front/back plate to get to it) Next check the heating element itself with a meter for continuity OHMS CLOSED CIRCUIT. If not its defective. Check dryer Terminal block prongs both outside prongs should give combined 220, and 110 each if u check 1 outside & 1 center (ground) prong. Also check house electrical outlet for full voltage. 220 because if u only get half or 110 volts you will be able to run the machine which uses only 110 to run motor but not the heater which uses a full 220, Check the thermal cut off, the cycling and the hi limit thermostats. For continuity or OHMS. If no ohms or resistance they need replacement. Lastly check your moister sensor. ( located inside the dryer door usually) Especially if machine seems to shut down early and clothes are still wet. Test with a meter at room temperature and it should show continuity.

The timer continues to advance after position is off

I'd say the Timer is Bad there is no way to test a Timer. It's a Plug and play Item Try www.repairclinic.com com

The timer doesn't work and the dryer does not

I would look for reasons why the dryer has this condition. Remove the vent pipe and see if their is lint buildup. If you see air restrictions that means your safety has tripped or melted. That model number is incomplete. Gotta shoot from the hip on this one:9_29_2011_4_27_44_am.jpg9_29_2011_4_28_04_am.jpgGet the back off there. You made no mention if the dryer was not working nly said it was not heating sooo.....I think if you found this:9_29_2011_4_29_16_am.jpgand the dryer does turn and it is electric heat then this is the probo:9_29_2011_4_30_15_am.jpgIt is mounted on the heating element housing:9_29_2011_4_31_29_am.jpgOK if all of the safety are good when being checked with a meter with their wires removed yall could have a bad timer:9_29_2011_4_32_39_am.jpgOR a bad circuit breaker9_29_2011_4_33_07_am.jpgIf your unit shuts down in less than 10 minutes then I would guess yall have electronic sensors but since you made no mention of that being the case then I feel like your model must be one which features autodry. Autodry uses the limits on the heater housing to determine movement of the timer motor. When the heat is on the timer won't advance and when no heat is applied it moves a little bit. Eventually them clothes will get so dry the heater will be needed less and less by the control thermostat. At which point the timer motor will advance steadily towards cool down mode.So what goes wrong? The vent being blocked causes excessive heat. If the filter housing was blocked like this:9_29_2011_4_39_05_am.jpgThe fuse would melt and kill the motor through the door switch circuit. It would be as if you opened the door. The dryer won't go no mo. But if the vent was clogged the fuse would not melt because it is rated for 350f. That leads me to believe your small limit on the heater housing has failed. That being the case it will run all day and never dry them clothes. NOW if yours is a gas model then that is an animal of a different nature. A gas dryer that is also an autodry model would never give power to the gas assembly if this duct fuse was blown:9_29_2011_4_43_23_am.jpgIt is wired into the gas valve assembly circuit And if that is the case then yall have a clogged filter housing like this one:9_29_2011_4_44_37_am.jpgI recently did a tune up on one of these dryers and took some photosI also wrote a tip for FixYa about these wonderful dryers HEREMy dryer BLOGNothing is difficult about repairing a dryer. Is it a big job to replace the heater element on the Simpson Sirocco 350 dryer?

It won't be the element unless a wire from it is grounding against the casing. You most likely have some sort of issue with the home breaker.
