Channel tuning capability to your set might be 98. If so, nothing can be done.

SOURCE: How to program the TV to utilize cable channels

Go into the menu on your tv via built in button on the tv, or the remote. Look for something that reads "Program Mode" or "Program Channels"

Tv's have to search for channels that have a good solid frequency if they are just hooked up. newer tvs do it automatically

I have an old toshiba projection tv and i'm trying to program the channels but it won't go past channel 69 how do i get it to go higher. i've tried auto programing and that does'nt work.

In the menu check to make sure set is set to "cable" band and not "air"; 69 is as high as it will go if in air band.

Select CATV and not AIR.

before you rate this information let me know what you find or if you have questions.

Failed to receive broadcast e202

Hi,

The 202 error is usually associated with a bad cable card. In your case, you need to check and see if you have one.

Did you run the Autoprogramming required to load and store the Channels?

If you are attempting to Add digital cable to your TV lineup, you must do that.

And one note -- the digital stations on your TV set will not match the lineup on the Cable box. The box was designed to line up the TV stations according to the guide, but it uses proprietary programming software and hardware to do that.

TV's cannot use the software. so you end up with the low to high frequency channels in your lineup, but it's not similar to the cable channel's lineup.

Try finding USA or TNT lickety-split....you won't.

After doing the full autoprogramming, let me know if you get only the Analog Channels from your Cable provider, or if you get NO channels locking in at all. Either one will likely require replacing the Digital tuner module.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I have a visco TV and I cannot get it off of channel 1. The remote does not work so I bought a universal remote but it still won't work. I tried to codes for NEC and Polariod as suggested by others,...

There should be channel buttons on the TV itself, try using those. Also, you may want to try changing the input from the Cable Box.
I am curious as to why the remotes don't work. Also, how did it get onto channel one. Did you get the TV used?
Here is a link to the AV Science Forum. It seems other people have challenges with this TV as well.

I have an RCA F31672ET and it works perfectly on channels 51 to 98 but will not recognize the rest of the spectrum. I am on cable. Thanks.

Depends on how your cable provider is distributing the TV channels.
Channel 100 is the line into the Jumboband, and most providers don't distribute analog cable beyond channel 99 since it requires a different type of amplifier. They will generally use Digital Cable for higher number channels, which would require a converter box.

I have a Panasonic PV-V4525S VCR and I'm trying to program it to work with the Comcast cable. Right now it will only record the same channel that the TV is on and I have to tell the VCR to record channel...

If your using digital cable it will only record channel 3 or 4 depending on what your cable box is set to...In order for it to record different channels it needs a cable source plugged directly into it. You will only be able to record standard cable channels 1-125. If it's digital cable forget about... you can only record it with channel 3/4 a solution to this would be using a 2nd digital box.. "auto-programming" may be limited even with a 2nd cable box. If your only using standard cable 1-125... you can use the TV/VCR button it will switch between the tuner of the TV & VCR allowing you to record while you watch a different show... keep in mind this won't work for digital channels which if I'm not mistaken comcast has already converted all channels to digital even basic.
