Dv2120us keyboard buttons light but screen black, won't boot

1) Unplug unit.
2) Remove battery from unit.
3) Flip unit over onto it's top, showing the bottom to you.
4) On most HP's, there's a small compartment where your RAM is held. This is in the almost direct middle of the laptop. It should contain either 1 to 2 small screws. Remove the screws.
5) The door should be able to pull up and it will expose your memory.
6) Remove the memory (there are two latches that hold it in place on the sides of it, spread the latches and lift up on the memory.. you might feel a little pressure.. it's okay.)
7) After removing the memory, flip the unit back over, plug it in and power it on.
8) The unit will beep a couple of times and shut back off.. this is a good sign.
9) Remove power cable again, flip unit back over and reinsert the memory.
10) Screw the memory cover back down.
11) Reinsert battery, plug power cable in and try to power on again.
