Hi,
I just got a new all in one: the Canon Pixma MX 850. It is connected to my PC via a USB 2.0. I can fax from my PC without having to go thru a paper print first, but can't receive on my PC directly (ie onto the Pixma in an electronic file and transfer this file onto the PC). As one is albe to scan using the Pixma and save those documents onto the PC - I think one should be able to do the same with fax?
Thanks for your help.

I know this is a very old post, but I happen to notice on the Canon website while searching for my answers that an Mx850 does not have the capability to upload faxes to the computer.
Hope this helps!
If you did not install Fax Services within Windows it will not allow you to receive faxes unless your have other SW that came from the factory with your machine.

I have installed Fax Services within Windows. The problem is that faxes that are received on the Pixma can't be downloaded onto the PC in ANY format. I believe this maybe an industry-wide problem. Is anyone else able to get their PC to read faxes received by their multi-purpose unit?
