The D60 works as SLRs have worked for half a century, providing a viewfinder through which you frame and compose your picture. The screen is for menus, settings, and reviewing pictures you've already taken. The LiveView feature which lets you use it as a point&shoot camera was introduced with the D300, introduced a year after the D60.

Sorry if that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but that's the way this camera works.

LCD Screen

Your camera is working exactly as SLRs have worked for the first half-century since their invention. You frame the picture through the viewfinder then take the shot. The display is for menu settings and reviewing pictures after they've been taken. Newer DSLRs will let you use the display for picture-taking (and take videos) but the A200 belongs to the previous generation.

Usually the photo is displayed for a short period of time. Try the setup in the menu. There should be an option for previewing recent pictures.

I have a canon eos rebel xs and when i take a picture the picture i am taking is not shown on the display screen like other camera can do, is there any way i can change this? i love my camera but i want to...

Do you mean you want to see the picture on the lcd screen before you take it like a point and shoot camera can do? For that, you need a camera with "live view" and your camera does not have it.

Screen went black

Think that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on, just press the DISP button one more time.

Display is blank

I can take perfect pictures indisde a building, but taking a picture outside, I can see the item but if I take the picture and looking at the picture the screen turns blank, seems to me that there is to much light exposure.

LCD Display Blank

CCD malfunction, common with Sony manufactured CCD chips. You are in luck, its a free repair regardless of warranty date.
