Error message

Are you getting this while taking a photo? If so, it merely indicates the number of additional photos you can take in the current burst before the buffer fills up and the camera has to slow down. It's NOT an error.

D90 wont shoot in auto mode. gives me r21 error. Manual mode works fine

Did you switch the Focus-mode selector to MF? It is the switch with number 8. Perhaps you are used to switching on the lens, but on the body is also a switch. Normaly used for the older AF lenses. ef6bcbcb-fb5e-4e4f-8886-8b72082cffea.png

Brand new SD card - says card is full? Nikon D40

I ran into this exact issue (64GB Sandisk SD not working with an old Nikon D40). The problem is that the camera requires FAT32 formatting, which is not supported on partitions greater than 32GB (i.e the 64GB stick). A format from the camera attempts to repartition all device space (64GB) which is incompatible. I solved this by connecting the SD to my laptop, opening the windows disk management utility (diskmgmt.MSC), deleting all partitions on the SD (right-click, delete partition on all allocated space), the right clicking the unallocated space, add simple partition, then allocating only 32GB and using FAT32 as the format (any more and windows will only provide exFAT as an option, also not compatible with Nikon D40). Plugging that into the camera and NOT reformatting from there worked.

Nikon Coolpix S70 - picture

There may be a fault requiring service (probably not economically viable if they won't do it under warranty), but before you go there, does this camera have a "Macro" feature? This is usually represented by an icon that looks like a flower. If you have set that on, the camera goes into an extreme close-up mode and won't focus on items at normal distances.

How do I charge a nikon clock battery

The clock battery is internal and cannot be removed or replaced except by a technician. It is recharged by your regular rechargeable battery, so there is no separate charging procedure. If you find that your clock and other permanent settings are being list when you remove your regular battery for charging, then it's an issue with the internal battery and should go to repair.

Bakground of the photo is a bit blurry

this is, in most cases, a desired effect (bokeh) which is used to "detach" the subject from the background avoiding the viewer of the picture to be distracted by the background. This technique is widely used in portraits. This effect effect will be more pronounced when the lens is wide open (in your case it should be f/3.5 if I remember well...). To practice you may try the following: set you camera to "A" mode and take one picture of something (it should not be a landscape) using the smallest aperture after this take the same pic using the biggest aperture. With the lower f number you should get a blurry background and with the biggest the backgroud should be in focus!

Nikon d40

Take the lens off and continue pressing the shutter untill it doesn't react anymore, you should then have a normal menu without the error message.Put your lens on and you're all sorted.Cheaper and less hassle than sending it to Nikon.

Problem nikon d40 memory card is locked. slide lock to write position

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

My Nikon D100 is now overexposing every picture The camera had been working perfectly until a few weeks ago, I have tried every setting and I've had the camera for years and it has worked flawlessly

Not familiar with this particular model, but have you tried removing the lens and seeing whether the aperture closes when you move the control lever ?
