The sleep mode is stuck on. How do I turn it off?

I think I have the same problem with the same television. It won't turn on and we think it may be related to the timer being set.

I have over 10 years experience in electronic tech support.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but the problem you've described can't be fixed with
troubleshooting. Your TV will have to be repaired. There is a part that has developed a defect and needs to be replaced. If you're still in warranty, the TV will be repaired at no charge to you. The warranty would likely be at least one year from the date of purchase from the manufacturer. If you purchased an extended service plan they will repair the TV at no charge as well.

If the TV is no longer in warranty, it will likely cost a minimum of $150 parts and labor. This is assuming that you only need one
circuit board or small part. If the problem is more than one of the circuit boards, the price of repair could go much higher.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

We have a sony trinitron tv that after using sleep mode turns itself back on after a couple hours. any idea how to fix this?

Get into its menu, come over to timer settings. Set the timer to 0:00. The set never get Off after that. Now, it might be set to 2:00; I assume. You should have its remote control to set this, as some Sony Trinitron models will not have a Menu button at its front panel control; to enter into its menu option.

We have a Sony Trinitron Color TV that seem to be in a sleep mode and we can't turn it on. Would you know what the problem is?

Hello
Press the "Sleep" button on your Sony's remote control hanset until the TV displays the time in minutes [ 15,30,45,60 or 90] that you want the the TV to remain "on" before shutting "Off" automatically. Cancel by pressing until "Sleep Off" appears. The logo also will go out from the screen.
You just do this after unpluging the TV from AC wall socker for about 10 minutes or so, and then plug it.

Hello- I've had a few power outages My WEGA keeps going on SLEEP MODE Any ideas Thanks- Alan

It may seem like sleep mode, but what it actually is would be low power mode.
Your voltage may not be sufficient to power the set properly and overheating occurs.
This is sometimes confused with sleep mode which has a different set of warning flashes than sleep mode from the LED light though they are the same color.
I would have the power checked on your outlet before attempting to repair the set.
I'm almost willing to bet that it reads at 90+ volts AC Rather than the rated voltage of 110 or better.

Sony KV-27fs100 screen will not do anything, power is on

You may have had the sleep mode set itself. Try unplugging the set for 8 hours and let it reset itself to see if problem persists.

That generally means that the CRT is weak and is putting out low emmisions. This is confirmed by the fact that the color quality is not that great when you can see a picture IE: not enough red, green or blue. This is very common when these CRT's age.
