I think you might be referring to what's called, 'picture in picture (PIP). Its a feature of the TV that allows one to see what is on other channels while your current channel stays on the screen. Refer to your manual of how to disable, or if no manual, play with the remote to see what button eliminates it.

the 9 blink code is caused by a bad diode on the pc board. The zero crossing detect circuit is not allowing the power supply to come on .

The power seems ok as it was working fine this morning had kids channel on for my daughter for about 1-2 hours while I was pottering about cleaning then daughter told me TV had gone black

Sounds like 'Picture-in-Picture' is interfering. You can try pulling the AC plug for an hour or two to 'reset' ii of check the user guide for operation:
