Sony KV-27FS16 without D-Board still ''works''?

I have an old KV-27FS16 which started to have problems powering up. Eventually it didn't power up at all and blinked 4 times in a loop.
Since it is old I took a look inside. What I read so far points to aD-board problem. After a while I forgot that I took the D-board outand I power it up and it did. I connected an antenna and I can seechannels.

What is the function of the D-board? Do I really need it?

Ok,
Yesterday I tried to see the difference and I noticed it.
So, now I would like to find a new/used working D-board if possible.
Where can I get one?

If I replace the D-board, will that solve the 4 blinking issue?

That link takes me to a power supply???

The part number that my D-board has is 1-678-307-12 and 171857212.

I also see A-1343-876-A with an "ink type of stamp" 875 on the side of the board.
And I remember it been called "D board is for Dynamic Convergence"

D board is for Dynamic Convergence in KV-27FS16
without D board TV will work but you will notice some error in convergence.
Below is an image of D board pcb...

4 blinks error shows problem in vertical deflection.
D board is some what related to vertical and I hope error will be fix after replacing / repairing D board.

Sony KV 27FS16 TV does not power on

The chirping is the power supply trying to start. This is not a repair that I would recommend a novice attempt. PLease have this unti serviced. Expect a parts cost in the $20-$40 range for power supply caps.

No Power Problem with KV-27s15 Sony TV

Barry, remove the back cover by removing the screws with an arrow next to them. The fuse is located on the left side as viewed from the back, where the power cord connects to the circuit board.

Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-32HS500 32" just stays on standby & blinks 7 times give no indication there were any probems.- wont turn on when you push the power button it acts like it is going to come on...

we have the same porblem. We just unplug ours and wait a couple of weeks while watching another tv plug and un plug it will eventually come on then we dont turn it off again it only goes off if the power goes off.

The popping is a bad indicator, something failed catostrophically. This would not be an easy repair, I wouldnt recommend opening the tv, I would take it to a repair shop as it will require some electronic troubleshooting at the component level. Since this tv has a tube most likely there is only two boards, a main board and a kneck board, even replacing the boards is dangerous without knowing the safety precautions.

there is an apparatu use to degauss the color of tv, usually technician has.but ,if you don't have that apparatu, you can use the magnet of the speaker by placing it nearer the screen and moving it from left to right...
