Was working at first but now sound is too quiet

Was working just like a normal mic and when i would record it would record fine, now it records so quietly that i have to turn my speakers all thee way up to hear it... and i can still barely hear it, if im trying to make music then i dont want to have to scream into the mic and i dont want people to have to turn their computer up all the way to hear my music...what do i do? i tried all the solutions that have to do with the computer, its checked volume all the way up on speakers on the mic and the speakers have normal volume for everything except when i playback my voice, and i checked those volume controls too

Why is it suddenly way too quiet?

Try a different mic to see if problem follows. If yes then it is a setting. If not then the mic is bad and needs to be sent to mfg or get a new one.

The mic does not record stereo anymore. when playing back a stereo works fine but when recording in stereomodus only the left channel records, the right channel seems to record silence/noise

This Mic is not a stereo Mic. If you're using a windows computer, check your sound control panel to see if the mic wasn't suddenly set to two channel device.

Why wont my headset mic work i can hear through headset but friends cant hear me i have done all checks and all in properly

try using the windows sound recorder in the accessories menu in the all programs menu in start menu
if you are able to record sound on that it means that your mic is fine but the game or software your are using to communicate to your friends doesnt have it selected
if the windows recorder doesnt work with your mic then either the mic is broken or it is not set as the default sound recorder in windows sound settings

My laptop microphone isnt working

Good day, Hi, to test your laptop mic, open the sound recorder. 1. if you ar using XP, goto START, All Programs, Accessories, Entertaiment, Sound Recorder. If the sound recorder loads normally, press the red button, shout as load as you can, you will see sound waves on the recorder. 2. If the sound recorder does not loads, chances are your mic isn't working properly, Load the device Driver for your mic, you can find the driver on the CD that came with your laptop, if not you may need to go to the Internet to find the MIC driver. 3. If the driver is loaded on your laptop, chances are it may be defective, you have 2 options, 1. replace the mic on your laptop, which requires you to dismantel it, get the defective mic and replace it. 2. just get an external mic. hope this may help.

Cannot record sound

Normally every Lap is coming wit internal mic; so

1- Simply check your mic is mute or not

2 - Check your mic volume

3 - Use sound recorder that comings with windows (just record & play)

4 - Use an external MIC (known as working) with sound recorder

5 - Check in control panel->sound and audio device --> default recording device and Voice recoding device as your system’s built-in audio device (some times it’s changing when we installing b-tooth deice)

6 - Check device manager --> under sound audio controller for any issues

7 – Uninstall & install completely your Audio Device driver with default settings.

** If you didn’t solve your prob; my advice is take your lap to a good technician with component level Repair skills.

Thank you & Best Regards
Dinu..

Acer aspire 4720z Built-in microphone only records loud static

You did great troubleshooting for your laptop. If the sound is fine and good for the headset, your sound card is probably not the problem. The driver aspect, should not be the problem either if it works with your headset. So herein lies the dilemma...the problem is most likely due to some physical componenent between the built-in mike and the computer case itself. You should take it to a laptop repair shop and see what they can do. It has nothing to do with the software or the sound card. It is the physical component of the built-in mike and speakers. Get that checked out and you should be good to go!

Recording with condensed mic and phantom

Some (very) basics with any live audio recording:
  • Have a very very quiet space in which to record, with good acoustics (this means a room that will give a flat sound, preferably one with carpeted walls and celings, but any small, well-furnitured room should do).
  • Do not mix with the interface. Simply put the gain as high as possible without clipping and mix later in your recording program (Cubase, in your case). You can always bring the level down, but trying to gain an already recorded track will introduce noise.
  • If you are recording vocals, use a pop filter. When recording anything, experiment with different mic positions to attain the best possible, clean sound.

Audio on Webcam is distorted - seems to be recording at a slower speed and palying back at normal spped

as a workaround you can use the headset, you just need to configure your messenger again to use the sound from the mic input instead from the webcam.
