SOURCE: Sony Vaio Laptop VGN-CR240E LCD screen flickering

Hi - I have replaced lots of LCD screens,it can be done

HOW TO REMOVE LCD PANEL OF MY ACER LAPTOP.

First ===>>> Remove all power and battery

Each machine is different in construction and size,
but they operate in the same fashion, motherboard, power inverter, lcd panel and cable connecting them together, also there may be a wireless aerial and or camera as well inside the lids frame housing the lcd screen so be careful while dismantling the front frame,it should be a good tight fit,

the lid has a base and a front panel covering the workings of the screen and wiring in a compact frame, remove the screws from the front panel and lift the front frame free from the base, remove the power panel by the screen next to the keyboard this should expose the motherboard insides, then unplug the inverter from the screen, unscrew the screws holding the the frame and carefully lie the screen on a flat surface to unplug the data cable from the rear of the screen, top of the screen rear contains IC chips required to make the pictures,
DO NOT TOUCH THESE >>> STATIC KILLS

It dosent mater if the screen is already dead just remember this when you fit the new screen

Hope this helps,Misterdj

SOURCE: sony vgn-cs320j av and capture

Hi barca3250,

The AV Mode/Capture TouchSensor Buttons above the Keyboard will not work if the Touchpad Driver in the Computer is not installed correctly. Please download and install the Touchpad Driver from the below link to fix the issue.

ftp://download.sony.com/US/pc/SPDOTH-00174505-64.EXE

Please restart the Computer after the installation.

This should fix the issue.

Good Luck!

Hope this helps.

Please post back if you require further assistance.

Thanks for using Fixya.

SOURCE: to enquire only what is

My guess is that the computer's motherboard is failing, and is acting "intermittently".

Make a good backup of all your files, before your computer _completely_ "dies".

If it is still under warranty, exercise the warranty, to get it repaired/replaced.

SOURCE: MY SONY VAIO VGN-CS320J LCD

Does it show a colored line at the bottom of the screen? If yes call Sony VAIO as that is known issue which will require repair at no cost. 239-768-7545
If not, does it happen in safe mode? You may press or hold F8 when unit is starting to enter safe mode. If it doesnt happen in safe mode it could be another program you had installed, I have seen this issue occuring with a mouse driver. Uninstall it or disable it from system config or start with clean boot.

I think I have broken my headphone jack on my sony vaio VGN-CS320J because headphones plugged into this jack do not work, unless held at a certain angle, otherwise sound continues to come from the laptop...

It might be the plug on the headphone that's bad - try it on another laptop. If it's the jack that's bad, then it will need to be taken apart and that's not easy to fix - recommend having a repair shop fix it.

Update first the firmware of your laptop. If the problem still occurs then contact your vendor for warranty there must be wrong on your screen's bezel and LVDS cable.
