I have disconnected the USB and power several times and it still won't work.
Are they the correct cartridge, are the new or remanufactured. Does the machine think it still needs a cartridge? On some cartridges they reset a counter. This is a possibility Have you tried the old ones .
A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by
resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer
from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and
re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns
on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again
once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on
the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.). If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

Make sure the printer settings are set properly to print in color on the PC. Even if there is a color cartridge, if the PC only tells it to print black ink it's not going to use the color cartridge.
SOURCE: Do I NEED 2 ink cartridges on the Lexmark 2500.
Yes you do need 2.
All ink cartridge bays has to be filled with a working cartridge, for the print driver to allow you to print. That is why I prefer single ink type printers, so it is not so expensive to maintain the inks you don't use.
Sometimes the ink
cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when
the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:
1. Unplug the
printer from the power source.
2. With the cover
open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the
ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of
the printer.
3. Remove the
used cartridges.
4. Load the new
cartridges. Close the cover.
5. Plug the printer back to the power source.
I have an HP Photsmart C4100 printer. I purchased remanufactured ink cartridges (both black and tri-colored) from Vivasmart. The black one works fine, but when I installed the tri-color, I got an error message that says "Print cartridge problem" The following print cartridge has a problem:
Tri-color. And I can't print. The screen on my printer says "Remove and check color cartridge." I have done this several times and it still won't print. I have turned off the power, removed the cartridges, and unplugged the unit, but it still didn't help. Any suggestions?

Is it going threw the actions of trying to print
No it won't do anything but copy and scan. It won't even try to print. The message I get is that my computer cannot communicate with my printer.
