SOURCE: m240 player not recognized my computer
From SanDisk web site "You should have it set to MTP when using it with any of the 3 supported subscription music servies. Otherwise, you should have it set to MSC, which is the normal USB mode for storage devices. MTP mode will only work on Windows XP or Windows 2000 with SP4 installed."

SOURCE: My Sandisk Sansa e250r keeps freezing up....
In order to fix a frozen unit if you removed some files (this just happened to me..)
2 things need to happen:
1. You need to get it into recovery mode so the PC can recognize it. Hold Switch On and Hold the REC button while plugging it into the PC.
2. Download the latest firmware from forums.sandisk.com:
http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board?board.id=e200
I had to go into the Sansa E200v1 Firmware Version 1.02.24:
http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board/message?board.id=e200&thread.id=15209
Now, you may have a "e250R" which means it is a Rhaphody unit.. but it actually isn't. it is just a e250 unit.
I have this situation.. where I just had to get the "normal" firmware, not the R..
Once you see the 16mb or similar on "my computer"
Place the extracted downloaded firmware into the device.
Also, create a "sansa.fmt" folder with nothing in it. The folder tells the unit to reformat using the firmware.
Now unplug the unit and wait for it to reboot, and give an error that the hold button is on.
Now release the hold button and reboot.
That should be it.. if not, do the same thing, and use a different firmware..

SOURCE: hey my sandisk sansa 2gb mp3 player will not
1) Try plugging it into a USB port on the BACK panel of your PC, and leave it there for a few hours.
2) Try plugging it into an AC adapter, and leave it there for a few hours.
3) There was a manufacturing problem with many Sansa Clips where the battery leads would detach from the battery. This would result in the Clip not being chargeable, and eventually it would only turn on when connected to a PC (which bypasses the battery). If this is the case with yours, you'll need to return it for a replacement.
