Hello rschneeweis
Welcome,

Sounds like a seal or drain hose is leaking or the clamp on a hose has vibrated loose.

Water leaking out the bottom of the machine when washing machine begins agitation cycle. If the machine is turned off the water stops leaking even with the tub full of water.

Let me know if you found it and how you do.

Means it leaks only when under pressure of the pump. Drain the machine and pull it out to where you can look into the pump area. a leaking area may show white soap stains. Fill it up a minimum and run while observing the hoses and pump with a good flashlight. A small crack in the pump or water up hose may only show up under pressure. Seeing is believing.

Model wdss4120aww GE Washer is leaking

If it's leaking during the agitation cycle, and only in 'large' and 'super' water levels, then that's just the way the washer is designed. I got rid of that piece of junk.

Hi, The water comes into the load, but then their

the agitator shaft could be stripped out. does it sound like the motor is working during the wash cycle or is it just idle? This is a common problem with ge washers the agitator strips out on the transmision and needs to be replaced.

Washing machine overfills

Grab the tube off the water level switch that comes from the bottom of the tub and blow it out so that the sand in the bottom won't be blocking the operation, pump out the water, secure the tube tightly to the pressure switch and retry.aff8f03.jpg

Washer won't wash

Hi!
When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:
It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.
It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.
Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

GE Top-loader Leaks Water from Vertical Tube Behind Tub on X-Large Loads

it sounds like the basket is not locked when it is agitating, if so the water will climb the wall during the wash cycle and leak out of the overflow (which is the plastic tube you described). if this is the case, it is a transmission brake problem. it can be fixed by a professional, but you might want to look into buying a new machine.

Sounds like the water seal is damaged and the leaking water has damaged the top bearing which is just below the water seal. You will need to have the hub & seal kit replaced.

Washer leaking

There are several things that will leak under a GE washer. The the usual suspects are drain hose connections, or hoses that have cracks or holes. I would inspect the hoses first as this would be the easiest fix. The other thing that can causes problems is the wash tub seal on the bottom of the tub. If the spanner nut (under the agitator) comes loose, the seal will unseat and the tub will begin to drip (I've had this one happen to me). Another cause can be the wash tub itself (I've also experienced this one). Inspect the wash tub for cracks. The tub can develop stress cracks and begin to leak. Especially if this is a washer that was involved in a move. To access the inside of the machine, the front should come off by pushing under the front lip of the machine with a putty knife. There are metal clips that hold the front to the top. Look in the crack with a flashlight to locate them. Push in with a putty knife to release and the front should just come off. I hope this helps you.
