Searches for signal and then states not supported,

And the interface(s) involved? We need details to formulate answers.

Is the message from the TV? Perhaps we should be looking at what the TV supports.

I cannot get video signal from my Samsung p1590

I think this one is for the Onkyo wizards:

I would write them via email here:

http://www.onkyousa.com/feedback_form.cfm

1-800-229-1687
However I did find this 2 page hookup manual with nice notes at link listed below that may help you solve the mystery:

(seems you may have to assign the digital input)

http://filedepot.onkyousa.com/Files/QuickHookup/TX-SR606_QSS_En_A.pdf?CFID=918117&CFTOKEN=40624545&jsessionid=f0306ea8a0d68bb60a49102e3e5510576756

Assigning the Digital Input
If there’s no sound, you’ll need to assign the digital inputs as
necessary using the setup menus on the TX-SR606’s display.
If you connect your DVD player to the AV receiver’s COAXIAL 1
DIGITAL IN, and your cable/satellite receiver to the COAXIAL 2
DIGITAL IN, as shown, it’s not necessary to assign the digital input.
The onscreen setup menus appear only on a TV that is
connected to the HDMI OUT. If your TV is connected to the composite video or S-Video MONITOR OUT, or the
COMPONENT VIDEO OUT, use the TX-SR606’s display when changing settings.

Thanks for using FixYa!

I have no output from subwoofer

Hello Fixya customer,

Thank you for your question.

Please check that the sub woofer and RCA cable are working by removing the RCA wire from the Sub woofer output of the Onkyou and touching the center terminal of the RCA plug. You should here a hum when it is touched.

If you get the hum, then the next step is to "Clear" the Onkyo by holding down the "VCR and Stby" button until you see "Clear" on the display. Warning, this will clear any settings special that you have made to the receiver, but will get you back to the Factory settings.

Lastly, check various sound fields, and the Sub woofer volume setting, if you still do not get sound, please have a Onlyo service center verify the output.

Thank you using Fixya.

How do you get the sound to work when it stopped

Hello Fixya customer,

Thank you for your question,

To further isolate the fault I would need to know what inputs the Blu Ray and cable are connected to.

We want to keep this simple and verify that the inputs are assigned to the correct sources before a hardware fault is considered. Also, you can do a "Clear" of the unit by pushing the "VCR and STBY" buttons at the same time while the unit is on and wait for "Clear" to show in the display.

Caution, if you do a "Clear" the receiver will lose any special setups that you have done.

Thank you for using Fixya, and if I can be of further assistance please let me know.

HDMI video not functioning on a new Onkyo TX-SR606

For me, it was the Monitor Out setting that had defaulted back to Component. I remembered to change the individual inputs to HDMI - but had forgotten to set the Monitor Out to be HDMI.

Sound but no video with gaming systems

hi

leahkohman,

Since sound ( audio ) is present , Connect the video out of your

wii direct to your TV.

Only problem is , if your TV doesn't have one ( component cable )

try the simple video connection ( to TV direct ,not coming from the

Receiver ) just to see if it works.

Just to know which output the wii is using, if it works the wii uses

the single video out

here is the cable to use:

04bd011.jpg

Check also the cables for continuity, on both ends ( a multimeter

will do the job )

Guide for checking continuity:

Continuity check using Analog Multimeter

the process is still the same though the images is not the same as yours,

hope these helps!
