Dremel Variable - Speed Multipro Rotary Tool 395 - Page 8 Questions & Answers
How do you assemble a dremel flex shaft 225-01
You screw off the collar on the tool, remove the chuck and inner part. The chuck is replaced with a special chuck (no inner piece). The special chuck has a square opening in it's nose that accepts the square end of the flex shaft inner cable. Is is actually a speedometer drive cable, from yesteryear.
Then you pull the inner cable out slightly, if it will, and put the inner cable into the square opening of the special chuck on your dremel motor. once engauged, you carefully screw the outer shaft housing on to the end of your dremel motor.
What you want to avoid is damaging this area during flex shaft assembly. I have had success with turning the output side of the flex shaft, while tightening the outer flex shaft onto the dremel motor. Stop tightening if it starts binding...
Rotation seems to help with alignment of all parts.
Cheers,
Doc
Can you use 3 in one oil on Dremel
3 in 1 is a light oil used the lubricate small joints, plates and bearings. It can also be used as a releasing oil for stuck bolt etc. 3 in 1 is usually ok to use in small amounts to grease the bearing points on your Dremel.
Does a dremel 400 xpr have a fuse? I have hardly ever used mine, but followed instructions for checking brushes, ran it to seat the brushes and now it won't start.
I don't know if it has a fuse - I know little about the Dremel brand but I have had some experience of similar other brand tools. The electronics seem less than completely reliable being physically too small for the job of speed regulation, torque compensation, radio interference suppression, etc. - everything is crammed into a tiny space and the circuit board is typically on the cheap and nasty side. If there is a fuse it would typically be found on the circuit board.
Mostly the failure of such tools, in my experience, is caused by the electronics though nothing can be ruled out.
I suggest you check the mains cord using a multimeter and then check the motor and if both are OK it is fairly safe to assume the fault is circuit board related.
My Dremel nut is stuck can't get off looks like it is stripped
If the threads on the nut or shaft are stripped, the nut will turn freely and it can be removed with pliers by turning and pulling at the same time. If it won't turn, it is probably galled or cross-threaded. In that case, try penetrating oil first. If that doesn't loosen it, try heating the nut with a butane or mapp gas torch. Good luck.
