Canon PIXMA iP4300 InkJet Photo Printer Questions & Answers
Canon pixma ip4300 - magenta ink is recognized but not printing
Take the print head out of the machine and sit it in a saucer of very hot ( just off boil) water about 10mm deep for a minute. Take it out and sit in on a pad of paper towel to dry briefly before returning it and the cartridges into the machine. Give it a deep clean and try again. If still no good, the print head has probably had it.
Why wont the head alignment work?
If the inks will not come out the alignment fails. Have you tried a deep clean? If that does not solve your problem
You can try and soak the head in one oz. ammonia and 8 oz. of hot water. Preferably distilled or spring water. Make sure it covers the nozzles and ink intake ports. Let it soak for 30-45 minutes.
Completely dry the head and contacts being careful of the nozzles
.Maybe let it sit for an extra few minutes
Do a deep clean after installed and if it now does a nozzle check be sure to put paper in the top tray and do an alignment.
If this does not work you may need a print head which I can supply.
Thankls for using Fix-Ya

Hi Neil
Does it just spool the page, or does the head move as if it is trying to print something ?

One, or more, of your ink tanks are empty. Open the Canon IJ Status Monitor on your computer to check the ink level information. Replace the appropriate tank.

Just restart the printed and see if lights turned off....
CANON IP 4300 PRINTERS WILL ONLY PRINT ALTERNATE LINES
I think your text document didn't fit the page. I have done that before. It overruns and the extra becomes the lines inbetween. To fix this use microsoft publisher to print it so that you can choose the paper size and the borders and fit the document within the space allowed.
My canon ip4300 wont do anything when trying to
It may have lost track of where the head is, even though it calibrates when starting up. (Like when you remove jammed paper forcefully).First check: make sure the front flap used to print a cd is closed - it tends to come loose easily. If that isn't the problem, then:Switch the printer on. When the head comes in view, remove the power plug. Then move the head all the way to the left. Close the cover. Put the power plug back in and switch on.
Printer not responding
Disconnect all the cables connected to the printer - press and hold the power button the printer for abt 10 seconds with cables disconncted - reconnect power and check
