The print quality usually depends on the program you're using to print them on your pc.
Your camera only ever sends photos to your printer, so the best settings are already selected by the camera and it's built-in photo program.
Your printer doesn't 'know' whether your printing a document or a photo, so the settings for each program on your computer are basic (known as default settings), and need to be changed by you to get the best from your printer
Find the settings that let you alter the printers options (in Word, it's FILE \ PRINT \ PROPERTIES), and make sure the printer output is set to maximum quality, and that photo paper is selected as the paper type.
Some options such as 'maximum quality' only appear when you've chosen 'photo paper', and some printers (such as the ip4300) have seperate options for gloss or matte paper, so go through all of them until you see what you need.

The problem is that the ridiculously cheap little plastic piece on the door hinge that is supposed to trip the switch that tells the printer that the door is open is either a) broken off or b) no longer aligned so that it pushes the switch all the way. I solved the problem by removing the top cover and gluing the switch open with super glue.

To open the cover, find yourself a small, flat piece of metal (or stiff plastic) about 1/2" wide and a few millimeters thick. (A very flat-bladed screwdriver will do, but I made myself one out of the non-sharp side of a straight-edge razor blade.) Push this into the 5 slots marked with an arrow around the sides and back of the printer (they're toward the bottom of the sides.) Pry up on the cover at the back and then pull straight up on the front. There are two flat vertical pieces that slide into slots at the front that have to come up - they were tough to make come loose, just try not to break them off.

Pick up the electronic control panel that is on the front right of the printer. (You might have to remove the silver piece of plastic at the right front corner. It pulls straight up to remove.) The switch is the little black plastic piece on the left side of the electronic control panel. Push it to the "open" position (opposite the resting position) and glue it in place. Reassemble your printer and voila! no more annoying "door closed" message!

Hi you mentioned that the Ink is new and that you have cleaned the ink heads, have you checked if the silicon Film for the ink cartridge contact was removed?if that film is not removed cleaning the printer head will still not detect the ink cartridge for the Black on your printer.Turn your printer OFF and remove all your print cartridges then install all of them again one at a time then turn the printer back ON, see if all the ink cartridges are now detected and if the Black will now print.Also if you can

Take the print head out of the machine and sit it in a saucer of very hot ( just off boil) water about 10mm deep for a minute. Take it out and sit in on a pad of paper towel to dry briefly before returning it and the cartridges into the machine. Give it a deep clean and try again. If still no good, the print head has probably had it.

Press and hold the stop button on the printer for 10 seconds and see if this clears

Hello, first unplug the the printer and take out the cartridges, first dab them on a wet paper towel until the ink start flowing, then take a q-tip dipped in alcohol and where u insert the cartridges, clean the print heads, replace the cartridges and power up. If that doesn't help it you have bad cartridges.

Ink jets may be clogged, go into your printer software for the canon. At someplace in there there should be an option to run the cleaning program on the printer. This is used to clean out the jets and clean up the printer a little bit. Make sure that you have lots of ink, Cleaning process uses a lot ink

There is many reasons for that, are you printing any thing??? Just restart the printed and see if lights turned off....

One, or more, of your ink tanks are empty. Open the Canon IJ Status Monitor on your computer to check the ink level information. Replace the appropriate tank.

Yvonne, the printer has no timer on it on. Check your driver settings on your computer. Specifically, check your advanced tab in your driver and see that "Always available" is clicked on.

It is trying to "ignore" the "bypass" try.

Tell the printer to *ACCEPT* the disk from the "bypass" tray,
rather than from the stack of paper in the A4 tray.

If the inks will not come out the alignment fails. Have you tried a deep clean? If that does not solve your problem You can try and soak the head in one oz. ammonia and 8 oz. of hot water. Preferably distilled or spring water. Make sure it covers the nozzles and ink intake ports. Let it soak for 30-45 minutes. Completely dry the head and contacts being careful of the nozzles .Maybe let it sit for an extra few minutes Do a deep clean after installed and if it now does a nozzle check be sure to put paper in the top tray and do an alignment.
