Open the ADF and clean the rollers:
The rubber treads in the rollers wears down, making them smooth, so they won't pick up the paper. Sometimes, they are aged, which also gives them a smoother rounded texture, causing jams. The quick fix is to liven up that roller with a mixture of alcohol and soap. Damp a rag with the solution and wipe the rollers clean with it. That's make them more pliable and the paper jams will cease.

Hi ijdhollywood,

This problem mainly happens because of failure or print heads or the ink system. This error is a hardware failure and not a software issue. Most of the time it happens due to gradual wearing out of the print head. The first thing to do is to replace the print heads, If this did not work, it is the logic board fault and it will not be worth repairing the printer if not in warranty. You can still send the printer to Canon to get the bad hardware replace, if you don't want to buy a new printer.

If you're throwing it away, take a hammer to it. Once it's been fairly well destroyed, you should be able to find the memory card, and trash it. If not, trash all the internal boards. This has the added benefit of letting you work off a little everyday annoyance.

That's the simplest way, and the way the DOE/DOD does it, as well as many corporations....except they use an industrial shredder.

Most all programs have a manuel built in.Open your scanner program and go th help. you should be able to find all the info you need

You can download the drivers from HERE but you need to select the Operating System (O.S), open the link and click "Select OS" and select the operating system installed on your computer. Once the O.S is selected, you'll see few tabs, expand "Drivers" and "Software" by clicking them and again click the name of the driver or the down arrow icon to download the respective drivers/software.

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages,then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

• directions:

1. click on drivers and software
2. Choose an Operating System from the drop down
3. click on drivers and hit download
4. you can also download the software which is just below the driver

must know before downloading: the platform or system type of the operatng system.32-bit or 64-bit? find out by clicking on start button on your computer,right-click on computer and go down to properties.look for system type.

This model printer has only an USB printer connection.
To connect this printer to a wireless network, you need additional equipment, a print server with an USB pirnter connection and then connect this printer server to a wireless router using a LAN cable.
It may be easier to purchase a new printer with wireless connectivity.

Common problem in using generic inks is that sometimes the chip fails after several usages. Printer wont recognized the chips anymore. If you still have the old ink with you try pry out the chip off from it and replaced the bad chip with it on the new ink cartridge. Use pocket knife and popped it right off and then snapped it on the new one.

Canon PIXMA MP530 is not wireless capable.it can only be installed over usb connection. OS Compatibility : Windows® 7, Windows® XP/2000/Me/98 and Mac OS® X version 10.2.8 to 10.5.x

I was able to locate a driver from the Cannon website. I found drivers for Vista 64 and Win 7 64. Below is a link to what you need to download.

If that does not work. Please repost with the exact issue you are having in detail.

I suspect you have tried to install the printer wirelessly in the normal way but what you have probably not realised is that you have to have the printer cabled to the pc. Now use the cd and follow the install procedure for wireless connection. This is the only way you will get wirless connectivity to work. i am a Canon engineer and this is a common problem because like all of us we are impatient and rush the job. It took me quite a few hours before I found out that without the cd you aint gonna do it.

This error is referring to the ASF assy (Assembly frame which means the paper feed section)
This paper sheet feeder assy is a extremley complicated piece and is therefore not really repairable. You will need to take the machine to a canon repairer for a new assy sheet feeder to be fitted. It takes a trained engineer about 2-1/2 hours to fit one as the whole machine has to come apart and the new feeder has to be aligned while fitting. Its a job i always hate having to do. You dont have any other options i am afraid. Srri to bring you such bad news.

it could be the coagulation of ink in between the cartridgebetter dip it in mild hot water for some times and replace it wiping the water. it would do the trick and solve your problem . it has been practicallytested.
