You didn't state whether or not Polaroid sent you the disassembly instructions. IF they did, I apologize for repeating them to you, but what you can do is go to the following link to download a copy of the manual:
http://mikecampagna.com/Polaroid/The second to the last sentence has a link to the manual. The sentence reads "... found in Polaroid's service manual which you can download
HERE." If you right-click on the HERE word, then choose "Save As", you can save a copy of the manual to your computer. If you look on page 21, they describe how to take the panel off. This was always a bit tricky when we worked on this TV. You have to line up the cover with the runners on either side and then slide it up. The final step you do is to re-attach the 3 screws.

Your TV is suffering from weak capacitors in the power supply and in the signal board. You will need an ESR meter to find the bad capacitors. Always use the same values of capacitors when replacing them. This is a common problem on the Polaroid TV. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

Power light comes on but nothing comes up on
Hi,
You have a standby power supply but you're unit will not power up because of the following reasons:
1. Make sure that the remote control is good, if so the trouble is internal.
2. Check the power switch button for open contact, bad solder joints.
3. You have a missing supply from the regulator section of the power supply.
4. The power supply has out-of regulation due to leaky capacitor.
5. Faulty EEPROM from the main board, faulty microcontroller.
The symptom is quite technical, I would advice you to measure each voltage output from the power supply to narrow the job. If you don't want to troubleshoot it because you haven't tools and test measurement, I would advice you to look for a proffesional to do the job for you.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

Hi I am having problems
Hi,
If you go to the Video Settings again where you altered the hue and saturation, there is an option for "Picture Mode". It probaby says "User" at the moment, but if you highlight this option and then use the RIGHT arrow key to change it to "Vivid" or "Hi-Bright", this should undo all of the changes you previously made and give you a good base to work from when re-adjusting.
There are no "correct" numbers as it's down to your own preference and varies according to the lighting conditons in the room where you use the TV. You should only ever make very minor adjustments to any of these settings and check the picture on the screen after making each adjustment and before making any others.
Hope this helps - please let me know if you need further assistance.
Regards,
BElectric

The tv has power when plugged in. the redpower
Check the power supply for busted/expanded/bulged capacitors is the first thing I would do. If you dont have experience with electronics you may want to take it to a tech shop as the voltages/amperage can kill you if you dont know what you are doing....
Thanks,
Michael

Actually it's a poloroid FLM-3732
Probably due to a bad solder connection on one of the inverter board transformers. If the problem persists it will burn a hole through the board. An open transformer will cause the set to shut off. This should be repaired by a qualified technician.
