Polaroid FLM-3734B 37 in. LCD HDTV Questions & Answers
Speakers in TV making a buzzing noise.
Try a reset to default settings. If that does not clear it I would suggest that it is either a hardware fault or interference
A constant buzzing might be interference from the power control card. What happens if you move the set elsewhere. Also, try it on another aerial, maybe there is a problem there....perhaps

Panasonic tc-p42x1 powesupply board change and still have 9 blinks
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. Viewing it in "
Mosaic" will make surf easy.

No picture but has sound
if it has sound but no picture, check this.. shine a strong flash light on the screen in various angles, you may see some signs of a picture.
but it most likely sounds like the CCFL inverter has gone bad..
usually bad caps..
hope this helps you...

Tv turn on no picture
If the sound still works normally but the screen is dark then I would suspect the inverter for having the issue. If you dont have sound either then I would check both the power board and the main board.

Wont power up screen flickers
Where do I begin? 4 years ago when I first had this problem I was able to fix it by replacing 2 capacitors following the instructions here.http://www.fixya.com/support/t293971-37_polaroid_lcd_tv_turnThat worked for well 4 years, now I'm having the same problem again with what appears no fix in sight, 3 more capacitors have gone bad, been replaced and nothing. I'm working on it but losing hope, I'll definitely return here regardless of the outcome. In the mean time anyone reading this DO NOT buy or even take for free a Polaroid tv, it's not worth the drama.

My polaroid FLM-373B shows no standby and wont power on
if no stand by indicator the first indication is power supply board failure. now the first place to be check is the fuse if blown?. if yes, before you replaced with new one re check other component parts in the power supply board which the cause of blown. you need a digital or analog tester so you can perform the job. then making sure you have at least a basic knowledge in any electronic repair, for safety purposes. hope this can help good luck.

Help new power supply will not power up.
if you had a surge, it could have damaged more than just the power supply. When you plug in the unit, does the power indicator light up??? your main board could also have damage. The main board sends a signal to wake up the power supply thus turning on the TV. If you have to replace the main board as well, it probably won' t be economical to repair the set.

I have a Poloraid FLM-373 TV. Ok here is the run
Hello,
the problem of your TV is power related. You need to replace the on/button and the power supply board of the TV.
First, replace the on/off button (switch), if problem persists, you can then replace the power supply board.
As long as your TV doesn't power on, it means it is having a power fault.
The power board was dying gradually, and it eventually dead now.
I hope the above is clear. If not, please let me know.
Regards.

5v present on stb voltage
Plasma and LCD TV sets are prone to having capacitors in the power supply section fail. This is the most likely cause for the probem you describe. When capacitors fail your will commonly see one or more of the following symptoms.
- No video, Power light is on or blinking.
- TV is making a clicking noise.
- TV takes a while to come on
- Screen is very dim or flickers.
Again, You can get a power supply repair kit with the parts, detailed instructions, and support from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com . Or just click here to see more details on their kit.
Here are pictures of capacitors...Notice that the ones below look bloated. They have failed and will need to be repalced.
Capacitor being replaced! Fairly easy DIY fix.

My 3 years old polaroid
Hi
High definition [HDMI] is a format used in tranmitting signals with cable connection. Transmissions are of analogue, and so the set will recogonize it and will chanve to it automatically when you connect the extrnal antenna. There is no way to chage an analogue signal to digital within the Tv itsef. It will display the signal as it is. Definition of analoge signals will be very less than [HDMI]. OK.

Tv has power now and no sound, and screen is blank
T-con board must be bad it should be replace or if you can see a small tap switch at the mainboard (soldered at component side)press it while the power is on to reset the system and your TV should work normal.

Tv was on and working, just went off black screen.
Hi,
Chances are there is a problem with the power supply board in the TV.
The
only thing I would suggest is to leave it unplugged for 24hrs then try
turning it on again. This has the effect of discharging all of the
capacitors within the unit, and effectively soft rebooting the unit.
What
to do next depends entirely on whether you want to try and fix it at
home, and have a good multimeter and are comfortable with soldering. If
you are then let me know and I'll tell you what to look for. Otherwise
you'd be best off taking it to a local electronics repair shop.
Typically the some of the capacitors on the board can go faulty.
I am fairly certain this is a problem with the main power board, and they will want to replace the entire board.
I'm
afraid I can't be optimistic for you, based on my experience with
Polaroid and past repairs I have been involved with, this is not going
to be a pleasant repair for you. If you're able to find a shop locally
that works on them, they will have difficulty acquiring parts, and if
this is under any sort of warranty work, it will be even worse because
everything will need to be approved in advance.
I'd call the
support number from the back of your manual, and see what they can do
for you... I hope it turns out well for you. Just be prepared for
otherwise.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
