You can adding RAM to your Acer Laptop by following the below steps.

1 . Unplug your laptop from the AC power source and remove the battery.

2 . By unplugging the power connector you will be safe from shock.

3 . Locate the memory access door for the main memory module. It should be on the back of your computer.

4 . Unscrew the memory access door and remove it.

5 . Remove the RAM module by applying gentle outward pressure to the securing clips on either side of the RAM module until they release.

6 . Rotate the RAM module upward to a 45 degree angle and slide it out of the slot.

7 . Align the new RAM module with the tab in the connector slot.

8 . Slide it firmly into place and gently rotate it downward until it clicks into place.

9 . Replace the memory access door.

10 . Replace the battery and power up the computer. It should recognize the added memory and reconfigure itself for use.

This is an easy fix! To wipe it clean and make it run like new, while your computer is starting up, press Alt+F10 repeatedly. It will go to factory restore screen, which will ask you to confirm if you wish to completely restore it. Please be advised that if the computer goes to normal start up again, you must turn computer off and restart process as soon as it is starting up. I have done this to several Acers myself and it took me a few tries when i was 'new' to these steps. Also, please save any files or pics in email or upload them to a site if you wish to keep them. This will remove everything you have saved on your computer!

It is probably better to show you a drawing of the Acer and where the screws are. From that it is easy to work ot where the bits all fit together. It apears there is a problem with Fixya, I cannot upload a drawing.
Try this:
Disconnect the power source and remove the battery.
Remove the hinge cover, it flexes fairly easilly but don't force it!
There will be a couple of screws fixing the keyboard down. Remove them and the keyboard becomes loose. Be careful with the flat cable and un plug it. (The socket has a clip that holds the cable in place, Use Care!).
Fit your new keyboards.

i have seen this issue before .. all AMD based processors do the same thing. In 90% of the issues, its a over heating problem : the ehast sink is not dissipating enough heat from both the video and CPU chips that are in the same realestate of the mainboard .

• did you add/remove any hardware or software recently
• have you contacted Acer to figure out your laptop issue ? if so what have they told you ? if you haven't contacted them you should let them know so they can document it and try to fix or identify the problem ?
• what operating system do you have?
• have you experienced any BLUE SCREEM issues besides black screens ?

If you turn on the laptop and the screen still off and also you put new memory. I guess you will have to get a new screen. But first test the video card, connect an external monitor to the vga connector (is the blue one). if you see all through the monitor then the problem is on the screen.

YAre you sure your machine can support X64 OS?

Hopefully your system is under warranty, since the damage was caused by equipment failure. The next best bet would be a Best Buy or other big box retailer's laptop repair depot service. Hi the first thing you should do is go to a computer hard ware store and buy a lense cleaning cd or dvd or buy one of the well known auction site.

if after doing that it still dont work then this would suggest the dvd drive has packed up and will need replacing. you can also buy these but you will need to remove the keypads to get the old drive out. if you have not dont this before then its best if you leave it to someone who does.

First, you need to make sure your power adapter is providing enough power to both run the laptop & charge the battery. A very good way to do this is to compare your laptop voltage & ampere requirements (written on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop) with the voltage & ampere ratings of the power adapter. Voltages should be the same, or the power adapter's voltage about up to 0.5 volts more than the laptop's voltage rating. Amperage of the power adapter should be at least equal to or greater than the laptop's rating. It should never be less than the laptop's rating, or else the power adapter will be providing insufficient amperes to charge the battery. Of course, the power adapter's nominal amperage might be ok, but it degraded on usage. You can verify this by testing using a good or new power adapter.
If the battery did not charge using the new power adapter, take the battery off the laptop, & using a dry tooth brush, scrub in between the fins of the battery connector on the motherboard & on the battery it self, then put the battery back into the laptop & try again.
If this still did not resolve the problem, then the battery itself could be bad. Try it on another laptop, or try a good or new battery in your laptop.
If this did not work, there might be a possibility that the charging circuitry on the laptop's motherboard is defective & needs servicing. In order to do this, the laptop needs to be disassembled & the motherboard checked for defective/burned out components in the area near the DC jack. Any defective/burned out components found should be replaced, or you might need to replace the laptop's motherboard altogether.

to check for whether ur laptop integrated webcam works or not as in whether it has sufficient drivers etc download the yahoo messanger and then try finding "my webcam" from the menu. click on it and if ur webcam is seen then u have the drivers needed to run the webcam. now if webchat is the only reason why u need the webcam then this is the solution. but if u want to work with ur webcam on ur laptop what u need will be the camera software. it came with ur laptop installation cds install it from there
