How do i replace the cooling fan on my acer aspire 9303?

The Acer Aspire 9303, is part of the Acer Aspire 9300 series of Notebook PC's.I have good news, and not so good news.Good news:This is a link to free Service Manual,http://www.tim.id.au/blog/tims-laptop-service-manuals/#toc-acerDrop down to the 'paragraph' that starts with Aspire 1200. (1200 in Blue)Go down to the 13th line (8390Q), scroll across, left-click on 9300.[ Ignore the following if you are aware; This is a PDF file. The computer you are using now has Adobe Reader on it, which uses PDF files. After you click on the file name (9300), it may take up to 30 seconds to download. After the file has downloaded, bring your mouse to the bottom of the page. The 'ghosted out' Navigation bar will appear.Go all the way to the right, and click on the Adobe PDF icon.(Looks like a three pointed 'star' ]Start on Page 69. (PDF file page number at top)Direct information for removing the Fan Assembly, is on Page 78.Not so good news:The Display Assembly has to be removed, and the laptop disassembled down to the motherboard removed, to access removing the Fan Assembly.1) Remove ALL Power. Remove the AC adapter (Charger), and Battery.2) Advise use an ESD wrist strap, and connect it's alligator clip to a good ground source.Average cost is around $3 to $6. Cheap insurance, so you do not Static shock, the delicate hardware components inside your computer.Do not wear one, and have it connected to a good ground source, and you can use the laptop for a doorstop.3) Use a multi-compartment container, for the various screws you will remove. Label each compartment for the area the screw/s come out of.SOME screws look VERY similar to other screws. Advise Do Not mix them up.4) If this is your first time, make a record as you disassemble. Make notes, and drawings, and/or use a digital, or video camera. Use good lighting, and make legible notes.Nice to have a Service Manual, but even nicer to have your own personal record to refer back to, in case you are interrupted. For additional questions please post in a Comment.Regards, joecoolvette

Acer Aspire 9300. Won't show on anything on it's screen after restart or reboot..

Well for one it sounds like you may have used a monitor other than the laptops and selected this as the default monitor. When you boot the system go into your monitor settings and select the on-board graphics which came installed with your unit. also it could be that the screen has gone out. But if you have been playing with an external monitor this may be your problem. Open Control panel find your graphics and restore this back to default monitor settings. This can be set in BIOS settings as well back to on board graphics and display. Remember to rate and give testimonial this is how i earn my achievements here of FixYa Thanks in advance

My acer aspire 2920 goes

Hi there. It won't be a bios problem if it allows you to selet the usb to boot from. Sometimes when you try to boot ubuntu off of a usb it gives you a black screen for as long as 2+ minutes. usb drives can be slow but if it still will not boot then it is likely a problem with the boot loader on the usb stick. I would try installing ubuntu to the usb again to see if it works. If it still won't work then there is more than one way to install ubuntu to a usb. Leave a comnent here if you still can't get it to work and i can give you some more instructions of how to make it work. It shouldn't be a problem with your computer though.

My computer is stuck in safe mode and will not reboot just beeps 3 times

check the ram memory ..and if you can not turn it off..just remove all power to it ..and this will force to restart ..If the screen with the boot menu its on ...select to boot on windows normally ..and enter ..This should make it boot normal ..but if does not want to ..it means that something is affected the operation system and you will have to use the recovery partition to reinstall the operation system ..or the disk ..or ..if you do not have any of that ..use a boot-able disk with an operation system on ..and reinstall it from scratch ..this can be a cause of missing files..and the safe boot the only one that can function and be chosen by the system automatically ..If you reinstall it will work ..

Laptop has blank screen, fan works and has 1 long

This is an indication that either the RAM installed is not being detected or your mainboard is not able to detect the dedicated graphics card. Claim warranty support if available. If your unit is out of warranty then your will want to start by removing the screws that secure the RAM access cover. Once removed, un-clip the RAM module and remove it. Clean the gold fingered connectors with tissue paper. Then reinstall the module. It is a little more difficult getting at the second module as it is usually located beneath the keyboard (unless you see two RAM slots on the underneath of the notebook.)This unit may need to be seen to by a computer technician even though it is a relatively small problem.Take care!damnor01

My acer aspire 9300 have

This beep code is -

one long, two short beeps
  • System board failure
  • Video adapter problem
  • LCD assembly failure

This is most likely a video problem.
Try re-seating the RAM, the video RAM is shared, uses part of the main RAM.
Also try restoring the BIOS setting back to the default settings.
