Acer Aspire 9300 Notebook - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Hello. I want to ask.
First, make sure it is fully charged and plugged in.
Look at the power indicator:
• If it is not lit, no power is being supplied to the computer. Check the
following:
• If you are using on the battery, it may be low and unable to power
the computer. Connect the AC adapter to recharge the battery pack.
• Make sure that the AC adapter is properly plugged into the computer
and to the power outlet.
• If it is lit, check the following:
• Is a non-bootable (non-system) disk in the external USB floppy drive?
Remove or replace it with a system disk and press <Ctrl> + <Alt> +
<Del> to restart the system.
Nothing appears on the screen.
The computer's power management system automatically blanks the screen to
save power. Press any key to turn the display back on.
If pressing a key does not turn the display back on, three things might be
the cause:
• The brightness level might be too low. Press <Fn> + <→> (increase) to

• If the Sleep indicator is lit, the computer is in Sleep mode. Press and release

If you are sure that the battery is the problem ...open the laptop ..and remove the old battery ..and on the battery itself it is written the model and all you need to know about it in order to get a replace ...usually all batteries for laptops are the same ...size like the ones for desktops but much thinner ...anyway ..all toshiba models use the same kind...So just go to the near by computer store and ask for one ...they should know which model ...but if you go with the battery in hand its a sure thing you will not fail or buy a wrong model...
No display on hp 6345s laptop
Try to turn off your system. Then remove the cables and battery on the laptop. Then press and hold the power button for 8 secs. Then, reinsert the cables and battery on the laptop. Then, press the power button to turn on the laptop. If the HDD light flickers continuously, then the problem is on the Hard Drive. One way of resolving it is to Re-Seat the Hard Drive. If you know how to tear down the system, here's how. Turn off the laptop, remove the cables and battery at the back. Remove the screws located at the corners of it. Then remove and reinsert back the Hard Drive. If it still fails, contact ACER to immediately replace the Hard Drive. If you don't know how to tear down the laptop, then call ACER also for repair....
I have an acer aspire 9300 which will not boot up.
Try removing the battery and booting the unit with the battery removed. The fact that you say the battery is bad leads me to believe it has shorted. If there are any problems with any devices such as the battery, fan, ram, wireless card, dvd or hard drive the unit will not boot. You should also remove the cd, ram, wireless card and the HDD. With those items removed if there are no other problems your unit will boot as far as the BIOS and then prompt with a message saying there is no operating system. This would eliminate the motherboard as the problem. If your unit does not boot to the prompt you have a fan problem or a motherboard problem. At this point you would have to remove the bottom cover and try to boot while watching the fan for movement. No movement, replace fan. Movement, replace motherboard. It it does boot to the prompt try reinstalling the HDD and booting. If it won't boot then the HDD is bad and would need replaced and formated with the original factory discs. If it boots with the HDD, try installing the ram and booting. Same procedure until you find the bad part. This will take some time but should narrow the problem to the bad part. Let me know if you need more help.

Look for the function (FN Key) combination. Most laptops have a power saver mode wherein you can power on and off the monitor only. This is done by using a FN key combination. It is usually FN+F1 or F2 for most laptops. Look through the keyboard, the sign for it is usually an icon of a monitor with some sort of X or line accross it. Press and hold down the FN key plus the key with that icon and it should bring up the display.
Computer wont start
Check the Ram and VGA of the computer. Unplug them and plug them again.
Come back with a response to see what we can do from there. Cheers

Hello,
Yes this is definitely a hard disk drive problem. If you have previously done a backup of your system when it still worked, you could try to format the hard drive and attempt a new installation, after removing all partitions. But replacing the drive could solve the issue once and for all.
How to replace Acer Aspire 9300 laptop video card?
If you have to ask "how", I recommend that you STOP, and take it to a qualified technician for trouble-shooting & repair.
Typically, one CANNOT change the video-card -- one must replace the entire motherboard on a laptop.
How do I get the mic to work on my laptop?
Hi bob_durek assuming you have the same problem with MSN messenger or any other software, please go to start -control panel- Sound. Then click on the voice tab and Audio tab and see under Voice Recording you see a device, meaning your mic. If you do see a device, click on Volume and make sure the "Select" is checked. Restart Skype and run the audio wizard to make sure everything is working. Dont forget to rate if my answer helped you. Thank you :D
