Fuzzy display

It could be that the crystals in the LCD are frozen, which has been known to happen in Defective Models. I recommend a New LCD. If it still works on a external monitor it is not a Video Card. Also, if you want to try a cheaper alternative, try just replacing the device under the LCD, which controls Color and Brightness. Google it, the name varies with people, so i cannot name it.

Acer Aspire 9300-3716 Hardware trouble after downgrading from Vista to XP.

You can download the drivers directly from Acer.

http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/webpage.cfm?siteid=7293&areaid=7&website=AcerPanAm.com/us

Just choose "drivers and downloads"
Then "notebook"
Then "Aspire 9300"

On the right window, you will see available drivers. Once you highlight each one, you will see what operating system it is for in the "download details" window.

No post in Acer aspire 9300 black screen

first, remove any external device as well as the ac adapter and the battery. while the ac adapter and battery is out, press and hold the power button for about 15seconds. then reconnect any power source and turn on the system. if it still doesnt turn on, remove memory, expansion cards, hard drive and optical drive then turn on the system. if it's still not turning on, the motherboard is faulty. but if it do turned on, reconnect the removed components one by one so you will determine which component is causing the issue. hope it'll help. good day. =)

Acer Aspire 9300-3716 password

My advice to you is technical. You need to reset the CMOS on the motherboard internally. As for the password in vista unless you know it you will more than likely have to re-install vista or do a systme recovery by using the e-recovery partition that comes stock with ACER computers. I do not advise you to try resetting the cmos if your not technically capable

3 bleeps when i boot up acer aspire 9300

This means that your graphics chip is pootched. Since the graphics card is usually fixed to the motherboard the only way to repair is to take it in for service. Since the service may be ½ the cost of a new laptop it may be best to just purchase a new one.

Trying to access the cd rom on a Acer Aspire 9300

When you go to safe mode, make sure that you go to "safe Mode with Networking", that way you can access the net. To make sure you have a good connection, get a long ethernat cable and connect it directly to the back of the router, in case the wireless driver fails. Get on the net forst, then try this site for your cd reading problem.....

Laptop will not power up, hard drive light flashes

Laptop is dead. How to troubleshoot the problem.
In this post I’ll explain how to troubleshoot a dead laptop and find the problem. The following troubleshooting tips are not model and brand specific, they should work for most laptops.
Let’s take a look at two different scenarios.
Example 1. The laptop is absolutely dead.
When you plug in the power adapter and press on the power button, there is no signs of life at all. The laptop will not make usual noises, LEDs will not light up, the fan will not spin, the screen is blank and black, etc… In short, the laptop is dead.

What you can do in this case?
1. Make sure the wall outlet is working and the laptop DC adapter is getting power from the outlet. Try another wall outlet.
2. Test the laptop DC power adapter, make sure the voltage output is correct. You can test the DC power adapter with a voltmeter.
3. Let’s say the DC adapter is fine and the adapter outputs correct voltage. In this case unplug the power adapter from the laptop, remove the battery, wait for 1-2 minutes, plug in the adapter and try turning on the laptop again.

OK, you tested the adapter and it’s bad. If you decide to replace the original DC adapter with a generic one, you’ll have to follow this rule:
The voltage output on your new adapter has to be exactly the same as on the original adapter. The amperage on the new adapter could be the same or higher.

If nothing helps and the laptop is still dead, apparently the motherboard is fried or there is a problem with the DC power jack. It’s possible the DC power jack is broken and the motherboard is not getting any power from the adapter. In this case you’ll have to disassemble the laptop and replace the power jack.
Example 2. When you plug the DC power adapter and press on the power button, the laptop starts making normal noises, the LEDs work properly but noting appears on the screen. The laptop will not start.
First of all, take a closer look at the LCD screen. Look at the screen under bright light. It’s possible that the image is still on the screen but it’s very faint.
If there is no image on the laptop LCD screen, test the laptop with an external monitor. Connect an external monitor to the VGA port on your laptop and turn the laptop on. You can toggle video output between the internal LCD screen and external monitor by pressing Fn and F4 keys simultaneously on HP laptops, Fn and F5 keys on Toshiba laptops, Fn and F7 keys on IBM laptops. Other laptops may use different key combinations.
Let’s say the external monitor works fine but the internal LCD screen has no image at all. If that’s the case, your problem could be related to the LCD screen or the video cable. Also, make sure the video cable makes good connection with the motherboard and the LCD screen. Try reconnecting, reseating the cable.
In my case, both internal and external monitors were absolutely dead. Neither of them had image. That means the problem is not related to the LCD screen or the video cable. From my experience I know that this problem could be related to the laptop memory.
Try reseating the memory module, maybe it’s not making good connection with the memory slot. Try cleaning contacts on the memory module with pen eraser. Try moving the memory module into another slot. Try replacing the memory module with another known good module, it’s possible that your original module is dead.
If you have two memory modules installed you can try removing them one by one, it’s possible that one of the modules is bad. Try installing different memory modules into different memory slots.

In my case reseating, swapping the memory module didn’t help. I was pretty confident that my problem is not memory related and I moved on.
Try removing battery, hard drive and DVD drive and turning on the laptop without these components.

Let is set for few hours to see if error or some kind of message pops up. Sounds like a bad drive to me. You mikght go into bios to see if the hard drive is see there.
Replace it with Western Digital,Seagate or Toshiba. The others in my opion are not worth the effort to install.

Video card freezing display & rebooting when

Hi,

Go into device manager and uninstall your video card, if it prompts to delete installed drivers put a tick in the box and click ok.

Now restart your laptop, the display drivers will be re-installed again, now go to Acer support and download the latest device drivers for your model.

If that doesn't sort it out, check for a bios update at Acer support.

If that doesn't sort it, you have a defective video board, if its intergrated onto the mainboard you will need a complete new mainboard, if its a dedicated video board you only have to get a new one.

Thanks

if you have a wide screen laptop the picture format is 16x9 in stead of 4x3 as the old models.

you can try to change the screen resolution to something like 800x600 1024x768 this are standar 4.3 formats. after you can run the video application and see if it shows you a full screen picture. if you need more info contact me
