I can no longer download photos to computer
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as
Picasa.

Changed format setting, now no images. Can I get them back?
Format doesn't change the image format, it formats the memory card, wiping it clean and preparing it for further use.If you haven't done anything to the card since formatting it, you may be able to recover at least some of the pictures. Do a
Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program appropriate for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer and run the program.

Display screen not working
Sound like a malfunctioning CCD (Charge Coupled Device) image sensor. Rare, but possible problem with your LCD screenviewer... in both cases (LCD or CCD) this isn't a job that you could solve yourself; this wrong include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.I suggest check this link for additional details in this previous solutions for an Defective CCD and next contact your Kodak service. I strongly suggest (taking intoconsideration the age of your camera) to evaluate the cost of repair versus the cost of a new camera with similar features, before making a final desicion.Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

i can not take
Hello
Do you hear any sound or can see any light when you try to turn on your camera? Try removing the memory card then turn it on again. If that doesn't work, load it with a new set of batteries. Update me what will happen.
LCD SCREEN WILL NOT DISPLAY
POWER
From my experience, there is a setting on your camera (to preserve battery) that makes the screen black. There is probably nothing wrong with your camera, you just need to find the DISPLAY button and push it until you see the image on your screen.
If you do not have a manual for your camera, you can download one here:

Hope this helps!
Lens cover will not close
YES, BUT THAT IS A JOB THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE PROFESSIONALLY, DUE TO THE ALIGNMENT OF THE LENSES AND THE POWER DRIVE FEATURES. IF YOU GOOGLE CANON POWERSHOT A620 REPAIR SERVICE, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET A PRICE QUOTE BEFORE YOU SEND THE CAMERA IN FOR REPAIR. IS IT JUST THE COVER THAT NEEDS REPLACED OR THE LENS? THE COVER MIGHT JUST NEED TO BE CLEANED GOOD WITH AIR TO START WORKING AGAIN? WORTH A TRY. IF I CAN HELP MORE, REPLY TO:

Black lcd screen
First press the DISP or DISPLAY button to make sure that you just didn't accidentally turn off the screen. Next, have you downloaded the pictures it takes, and are they also black? If so, A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).
To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please
see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.
I receive an error E18
Hi
you have lens unit defective. Either simple or serious, you would have to bring your local repair shop.
They would charge around $85 to 145 depend on what they really want to charge.
Thanks and best regard.
Usually have no problems with my canon powershot
