Card write protected
Thomas,
You will find a small knob on the card which makes it write protect. If the issue persist try any other card.
Changed format setting, now no images. Can I get them back?
Format doesn't change the image format, it formats the memory card, wiping it clean and preparing it for further use. If you haven't done anything to the card since formatting it, you may be able to recover at least some of the pictures. Do a
Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program appropriate for your computer and operating system. Put the card into a card reader attached to your computer and run the program.
Display screen not working
Sound like a malfunctioning CCD (Charge Coupled Device) image sensor. Rare, but possible problem with your LCD screenviewer... in both cases (LCD or CCD) this isn't a job that you could solve yourself; this wrong include distorted images or abnormal colors, scratchy purple lines, blank or black pictures, and/or black videos with good sound being recorded on the camera's flash card.I suggest check this link for additional details in this previous solutions for an Defective CCD and next contact your Kodak service. I strongly suggest (taking intoconsideration the age of your camera) to evaluate the cost of repair versus the cost of a new camera with similar features, before making a final desicion.Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.
