X and y sustain boards is common failure for this set

A quick and simple solution is to plug the tv via the audio/aux out phono 's to a amp or stereo with aux in,then run the sound through the amp/stereo.
The sound will be alot better than the speakers on the tv anyway.

yellow is for video only, please use also the white and red rca plugs for sound, hdmi problem could be a to high resolution choose 720p or 1080i in de connected device.

Theis 1 or 2 blown caps in the power supply these can like devices will be puffed up on top replace them and your good to go value is wrtten on device

this usualy happens when you turn the power off to the set either by shutting it off with a switching cable box or by a power strip it returns to default settings
if your turning it off with the remote and it does it then there is a stand by supply problem

Your Television is broken.I sugest you go and buy a new one from the following stores:

1.K-Mart
2:WalMart
3.Sears

I think this is what you need.
Before pressing Menu make sure the picture mode button is set to User then you can change your contrast etc.

Also this is how to get to the factory settings menu but don't touch anything your not sure of or you could really mess up your tv for good. Don't change settings in here unless you know what you're doing. Don't blame me if you mess up your telly.

it is not hte romote trust me we see hundreds off these in is the mainboard processor our need a tech to find you a new mainboard shop jimmy may have one don;t let them sell you a control box

Since there is no details provided here, I am going to take a guess at this one.

Go to your setup menu and check the audio options. Make sure your speakers are not turned off, or if there is a choice for output, make sure it's set to speakers.

replace all the capacitors in the power supply
board.you will see the capacitors bulge out on the tops.change all of them with a higher
voltage.

THe infra-red sensor?

It sounds like it is the picture tube. The same thing just happened to me. The back of my television started smoking and then there was no picture.

The only solution would replace the control module in the Tv set this would be the only viable solution we would have to offer you. I understand a new remote will not work in this case as the module inside the tv is stuck and is not working properly.

1. Replace the module

If the Tv is under warranty seek warranty support before attempting any repairs yourself.

this sounds like the problem most LCD tv's get with swelled up capacitors in the power supply board. look for circular cylinder shaped parts rapped in plastic with writting on the sides, and metal tops, if the top is rounded over, not flat, it is bad. replace them.
