The loud noises came from the tv with a colors wheel design in it have to be replaced every few years,because the spinning of the colors wheel disc are spinning in very high speed in RPM to have it colors for the tv to operate correctly,the humming,loud motors noises and eventually the effect of the tv colors.The colors wheel disc are worn out and spinning hitting it axes motor,the colors wheel must be replaced to solved this problems.

If your question is about Samsung HLN5065W tv then its picture will become black and white due to bad/ defective color wheel in light engine and color wheel replacement will hopefully solve the issue.

Two things to look for:

1) When you turn the set on look from the back and see if the lamp comes on at all. You can also remove to lamp to examine it to see if shattered inside.

2) In the direction the lamp faces (with lamp removed) inspect the color wheel, if it is shattered the lamp usually either will not come on or come on for a few seconds and go out. Sometimes before a color wheel fails you will hear a high pitched or fan like sound; some of them when the wheel fails will make a grinding sound---if the wheel shattered the set will detect it is not turning or running too slow.

Sounds like the color wheel is getting ready to go out. That sound is more than likely the bearings in the wheel

The tv have a colors wheel design into it.The tv colors wheel is dying and spinning off it motor axis.The noises u are hearing are the colors wheel is grinding and hitting it steel hall of it frame box.U have no mechanical skills don't tries to replaced the colors wheel by ur self,because the colors wheel sit way back of many mechanical parts of the tv must take out before even can come to the colors wheel itself to replaced the colors wheel itself.Hire a tv tech to do the job to change the tv colors wheel.If u have no mechanical skills to take out and putting it back of tv colors wheel itself,because u will regret it,if u do it ur self and putting in the colors wheel in the wrong way to the tv itself.

The issue you describe is consistent with a power supply board issue. This is the board where the AC goes to. This problem may have occurred as a result of irregular power supply, or excess power supply or power surge.

The TV is receiving current but cannot circulate or transfer the current to other necessary part of the TV because of the defective power supply board.

I do not think it needs replacement, rather some defective capacitors are causing this issue.
Open unit up and take a look at the power supply board.You will probably see one or more electrolytic filter capacitors that are bulged up in the top-not perfectly flat like the others.

The value of these capacitors will be different, most likely they will be somewhere around-820 to 2200uF/25 V( or /10V sometimes)

You can replace them with same values but I would recommend the voltage rating to be higher(like 35V for an original 25V) for reliability purposes.

What happens is,these bulged top capacitors will cause a low and unfiltered DC voltage=main board will malfunction(the relay will keep clicking until the caps are holding enough charge to bring the voltage up over a threshold point).

You can buy these capacitors at any Fry's or Radioshack store or you can order them online at vendors like "mcmelectronics.com"(look for electrolytic capacitors).
After replacing these capacitor(capacitors) most likely the normal operation will be restored.

Note: There may be also some other causes for this symptom ,like a defective T con board ,or main board,but the bulged top capacitors are the most common cause for this issue.

If you don't know about TV repairers, take the TV to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you. Also, note that TV stores a lot of current, so wait a while before opening the TV back cover.

The tv also have a board that call the Ballast board could be dead too.This Ballast board only job are to ignite the tv projection lamp.

Tv LED light "LAMP" flashes or tv projection lamp been inside the tv like 1 1/2 or 2 years,tv used daily like 4or 5 hrs a day?Yes,the tv projection lamp is dead.Require a new tv projection lamp.

Its a Good Possibilty that its the New Color Wheel causing this,if the colors are not complete on the color wheel then that will be why you are seeing shadow on right hand side of screen.
I know I ordered color wheel for mine and had to send it back,it did the same thing.
I compared it to the old color wheel and the new one did not have Solid colors on it.

Can you see picture behind the shadow? or is it shadow and no picture?

Problem is the Color Wheel, Located behind the Lamp .
You will need a Flash Light and Pull Lamp out ,Look inside and you will see Color Wheel.

In order to have a PIP you have to have two receivers in the TV. The receiver for the main picture is failing.

There is a fan in side your tv for cooling the lamp. if its bearing have some problem then it can make such noise.
Also there is on more thing which can make such a noise. that is the color wheel. if its bearing get damage it will make such noise.
check the two.

It seems tv needs lamp replacement, please check lamp in tv and if lamp has not been replaced in last 2-3 years or lamp is broken, replace it to solve tv problem.

Ballast Board ,it connects to the Lamp which is what Powers Lamp on.
First check all fans Lamp fan,ballast fan,DMd Fan, if they are OK then replace the ballast Board.

Possibly lamp, they will make picture dark when the lamp gets old/weak.

There is a common mistake people make when they replace the color wheel.

There are two cables from the color wheel that plug into the DM unit, a silver box. One is a normal plug with wires and the other a flat usually orange ribbon cable.

Note the ribbon cable where it plugs in only has contacts on one edge! It is quite common to put it in backwards and the set will not turn on nor will the lamp come on, contacts on it usually face the rear of the set, This is simple to check and happens often.
