I have a 2 year old Samsung 50" dlp tv. I recently started having problems with vertical lines across the screen. (e.g. lll lll lll lll) They are in sets of 3 or 4 about an inch apart, with a larger space between each set when a movie has predominately dark colors. When the screen has mostly light colors, the lines are 1" apart across the whole screen (llllllllllll). It looks like the colors in the lines are offset from the colors on the rest of the screen, or shifted 1". They are there from the moment we turn it on until we turn it off, and they will not go away. We have unplugged everything and plugged it all back in. We have cleaned inside of the set. It doesn't make any noises that are out of the ordinary. We are not finding any solutions, although other people seem to be experiencing similar problems. It isn't under warranty, which doesn't matter when no one knows what is wrong! Samsung seems clueless on the problem.
the person you talked to at samsung is more than likely a customer support rep that does know anything but what his computer tells him. i have seen this symptom several times in many makes and models. if you can give me your full model number i will give you a part number to fix this issue.

I have a Samsung 50" DLP TV, model HLN5056W, that I had the lamp repaired on 2 years ago. A week ago it would not come on (either with remote or with power button on side of set) unless you unplug the tv and let it reset (best guess). It would come on and play all day long but each morning had to have this routine repeated. Finally that routine has stopped working. Service reps came out to replace lamp and found it wasn't bad. Service shop says (phone person - not tech) that it is a DMB (?) board. Estimate cost $276 for board and $379 for labor. Before I invest more money into this TV (bought new 2 1/2 years ago) does that sound like this could be the problem and is this about the cost of this type of repair?
It is called a DMD bord and you can fix it your self look at my ether post on how to clean and tighten the screws on it this should fix it

TV works for about 30mins and then freezes in a black and white negative image. I can not turn off unless I unplug the tv. It will start back up and work for a short period of time. I just replaced the bulb and it seem to work for two days. Please advise...reading the forums it sounds like I have an issue with the degital board?
Yes the digital board is the culprit. I need the complete model number so I can get you the correct part number. On the right hand side of the TV is a sticker with the model/serial and sometimes a version number. Get me all those and I will look up the part number.

100 white dots on screen in all sources. Have cleaned all dust from inside. I think it is the DMD board. Any suggestions
Its the DLP IC chip itself that is bad. The DMD board is where the chip resides but if you order a board, it will come without the chip. Its not cheap and the replacement is tricky because the DMD board must be removed and then an alignment of picture centering will be necessary.

I just bought a USED SAMSUNG MODEL HLN507WX/XAA.I connected the HD Box from Comcast and it indictes "Not Supported Mode" when using Component-3 inputs. It worked fine at the previous owner's home. He had the old type Comcast HD Box.I had it working for a while then the screen would begin flashing and state again "Not Supported Mode."Comcast can't seem to fix the problem over the phone.Any Ideas?Willie
Try HDMI if the TV has the inputs or swap the component cable.

Samsung HLN5065W...replaced color wheel and lamp. TV turns on and lamp illuminates for approx. 10 seconds, then goes out. All three LED lights on the front of the TV flash when this happens. Any idea?

Samsung 40" lcd tv ln530 turns on fine then when turning onsatelite or game system you hear a loud ear piercing noise and green lines running up and down entire screen with back ground of whatever is on tv at that time. then it shuts itself off and turns back on by itself to hear a loud ear piercing sound and an entire screen with pink lines up and down. then all by itself turns off and on and works fine.
Bad power supply board !!!
