Toro Power Lawn Mower - Page 3 Questions & Answers
Pushmower won't start?
A few quick steps can help you diagnose the problem. Remove the air filter cover and air filter. Spray a shot of carb cleaner into the carb and try to start the mower. If the mower starts on the prime then you have a fuel issue. Be sure your fuel is fresh (less than a week old. Fuel is bad at 21 days old) and clean or rebuild the carb. If the mower wont start on the prime then it is an ignition or compression problem. Start by checking that the stop cable is pulling the bail off ground sufficiently.

Remove plastic cover on front of machine. This will give you a visual on your belt and pulley attached to the transmission. It may be the belt. Check for cracking or glazing on the inside of the belt. You can also try turning the pulley by hand if it is stuck or wobbly then your transmission is junk. Hope this helps you.
Toro recycler self propelled 6.5hp, 22" (gts)
Hi steve16092...
You may have MAJOR damage to your motor because of overfilling the oil.
Sometimes you can bend or break a piston rod when the engine is overfilled.
Meanwhile you can check a few other things.
Take your plug out and ground it against the head of the engine with the spark wire attached to it.
You should get a bright blue spark, if not then check your ignition module, it may be faulty.
If you have spark, then try putting a little bit of lighter fluid/or gasoline in the cylinder and reinstall the plug and try to crank it...if it cranks, then you may need to clean/rebuild your carburetor.
