sounds like the coil went bad but pull the cover and check the wires that go to the coil they could have rubbed on metal and shorted to ground shutting off the coil

sounds like the needle valve in the carb is not seating take it apart clean it and change the needle and seat inside the carb

Should be a couple of 8mm bolts to remove and then the housing should come right off.

the best thing is to replace the tank.

if it stopped running after hitting something with the blade check the key on the flywheel where it meets the crank
