Broken pull chord
Remove recoil assembly from top of engine. Observe recoil wheel and find knotted end of rope in wheel, Observe direction of rope wrapped around wheel, cut knot off wheel end of rope remove rope. Rope purchased by the foot at mower repair shop. Feed new rope end into hole in recoil wheel wrap around in correct direction, feed rope thru recoil cover, remove old rope from handle, feed new rope thru handle to proper length, Knot rope to stay in handle.
Primer bulb honda 5.5 engine
Available at any mower repair store. Remove and replace, held in by metal ring, small pick will allow removal of ring. Some have a plastic ring. Tak bulb with you to get proper replacement there are about 3 different sizes.
Gas leaking under tank
Remove and replace fuel line from tank to carb. Ensure fuel tank is not cracked on bottom. Replace fuel line clamp on tank.
Starts, then stops
All mowers have a low level oil cutoff. Fill oil with 30w. Ensure fresh gas. Always use Stabile.
Toro recycler mower w/electric start is leaking oil
Blown oil ring. Rebuild or replace engine. Remove spark plug if oily bad rings. Harbor Freight sells 160cc or 190cc replacement engine, Northern Tool also sells engines. Check for proper bolt pattern mounting. Remove blade and cables to carb and replace engine.
Toro GTS 6.0 hp idles up and down
Excess air or not enough air. Replace air filter. Spray outside of carb to clean & ensure choke movement is smooth. Water in gas may cause this also. Flush out tank, refill with fresh gas, always use Stabile.
Toro 24038 blade speed governor not working
Not enough torque. Only use 1/2 width of deck on tall grass, go real slow, Ensure side discharge is open! Ensure blade is sharp. Replace spark plug once a year and clean replace air filter. check oil level 30woil.
Compression lockup
Remove spark plug. Pull rope several times to blow out cylinder. Spray WD 40 in spark plug hole. Pull rope several times. ensure compression is present. Replace spark plug with new one. Spray starting fluid in cylinder before replacing spark plug. Ensure plug wires snaps on tight. Check oil level, fill with 30w oil if required. All mowers have a low oil start cutoff. Clean or replace air filter.
Toro ride on wont start
Battery required? Charge battery or replace. Replace air filter and spark plug. Dump out old oil and replace with 30w oil. Electric start may have a fuse blown. Dump out old gas fill with new with Stabile always added to gas. Try spraying starter spray in carb at air cleaner with filter removed. All mowers have a low oil sensor to prevent starting on low oil. Remove bowl from carb, should be full of gas. Pinch off fuel line with pliers or turn fuel valve off. Check float should be hanging down allowing fuel flow. Float up stops fuel flow.
