Mitsubishi ws 55511 replace convergance ci and now set wont power up doesnt stay on long enough to get trouble codes

How did you get at the part/s? remove chassis or just the center board? I suspect something happened when you repaired the set.Does the self check which even if set does not come on, power light comes on for a few seconds and goes off, do the self check (let me know if you need to know how) and see what blink code the power light gives.

Continuous blinking green light on WS-55511

I had similar issue, but it was the front control panel, not the Caps. I had to just unplug the key panel and it works fine now. There are 2 connectors, a smaller white one and a larger black on. Disconnect the smaller white. You will have to use the remote, but it should fix.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence: 1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error 2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection 2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION******* 2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem 2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem ******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protect the Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergence IC and shut down. Green light flesing all the time no mater what i do

ONLY 1 of 2 things can cause this problem---- First thing to do is remove front speaker grill--it should pull out and is secured with plastic pegs--behind it you will find an inspection plate--- Notice the one or two pairs of wires coming from the front keyboard of the set---remove the inspection plate and follow the wires to the right--you can unplug both plugs(most have two and they are marked with letters and different s so you cannot get them wrong) The idea here is to remove the front keyboard with its reset button etc from the circuit---You will still be able to try to turn the set on with the remote--- These sets have a Receiver that is called a DM board--(large metal box to the left as you look from the back) and if the power goes out the green light will blink for about 70 seconds and then go out---it is the Receiver booting up. It is called the DM board. If disconnecting the keyboard allows the set to turn on--you have a bad reset switch and two choices---either operate the set only with the remote or to remove the front screen and get at the reset switch (it is tiny) and remove and/or replace it. If disconnecting the keyboard does not restore the set to operation---the receiver is bad---there are 4 or more caps and some pico fuses that can fail in that unit---Mitsubishi no longer sells or repairs these--if it is bad and not the caps there is a company you can send the unit to and have it repaired--if you need to know their name let me know--- You can call them and get a quote for repairing the receiver. Let me know what more information you need--I am here to help. There are kits for sale on the internet for this repair that include the 4 caps that fail and some pico fuses on the board in that unit. Press in together the menu button and the Device/input button on the set and hold them both in together for 5 seconds and see if the led will blink a two digit error code, then respond to this same post and let me know if it gave a error code and what the two digits were.

When I turn the power on, it clicks on then off,

MOST OF THESE SETS HAVE A SELF DIAGNOSTIC:

UNPLUG TV AND THEN PLUG BACK IN---TURN ON---GREEN POWER LIGHT COMES ONFOR A MOMENT AND GOES OFF.

PRESS AND HOLD "device"(input) and"menu" buttons on front of tv for at least 5 seconds and then release bothtogether.

Watch for power light to blink in a sequence:

1 blink-then 2 blinks-------no error

2 blink-then 1 blink-------X-ray protection

2 blink-then 2 blink-------SHORT PROTECTION*******

2 blink-then 3 blink---------deflection circuit problem

2 blink-then 4 blink---------vertical circuit problem

******2, then 2 is most common---usually means one of the fuses that protectthe Convergence IC or IC's is blown---set will detect no voltage to convergenceIC and shut down.

SET WILL REPEAT BLINK ERROR CODE UP TO 5 TIMES ANDTHEN TO GET IT TO REPEAT MORE YOUHAVE TO UNPLUG SET AND TRY TO TURN ON AGAIN.

IF IT IS 2 AND THEN 2---USUALLY
CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT PROBLEM

let me know what you find--hope that you find 2 blinks, a pause and twoblinks--this is the most common and easiest to fix.

How to reset convergence? on mitsubishi ws 55511,

There is an option in the user menu on the tv. Using either the remote or control panel on the front of the tv, press MENU then select SETUP. After you choose SETUP go to the 3rd column with the 3 icons. Here you can adjust the red or blue color or reset the convergence back to factory default.

After a few years the set will begin to show increasing problems with the convergence settings. When you can no longer adjust either red or blue horizontally or vertically an IC replacement will be needed. Your set uses (1) SANYO stk393-110 and you want to make sure it's SANYO and not a knock off brand as those usually fail prematurely.

My Tv looks like a 3d movie it is showing double

If you can`t adjust the convergence through the menu then you may have bad conv. modules, you have two separate circuit that controls it; analog and digital, most often the analog circuit is the problem,it should have two large i.c mounted on heatsink with numbers like stk392 written on it.in any case you`ll need the help of a repairman. good luck

We have a rear projection

Thats a very common problem caused by weak caps on the DM board when power is lost they drain and then cannot recharge when the power is restored the WS55511 DM repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com will usually solve that issue. The kit contains the caps and the cd with instructions.

MY TV WONT STAY ON. WE TURN IT ON IT TURNS OFF.

when it shuts off and power light goes off do the self check this model has.

When green light (power) goes out, on front of set press and hold both the menu and Input buttons for at least 5 seconds and release both.

WATCH THE POWER LIGHT closely, the light should blink a two digit error code.

for example, 2 blinks, 2 blinks and a pause, it should repeat the code at least five times.

Let me know what code you detect and I will tell you what it means.

Tv has horz distortion lines while a green horz line rolls up then down turn off tv and back on and tv works ok?

Projection sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3d, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then yourconvergence is broken and needs to be repaired. This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem. Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. The power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some pics of convergence problems. 7859b01.jpge87380c.jpg 69189a5.pngSOLUTION #1What you will need to do is convergence. You can get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com . It includes replacement parts, step by step guides, support, etc.You can also read more about this on the tips page here on Fixya. Here is the link. http://www.fixya.com/support/r11932741-convergence_repair_dull_video_repair
