make sure that you are pressing the menu/ok button when ur saving time, move the flashing to the next number with the center buttons usually. And then you will hear a beep or chime sound when it is saved. Also make sure your setting the right phone the #1 phone and the second phone will set its self after that

I resolved the problem but I'm not 100% sure of how I did it. If it happens again I'll try it again. I left the answering machine OFF so the Voice Mail would take any messages. A friend phoned and left a message in the VOICE MAIL, I knew this because of the broken dial tone when I went to make a call. When I erased his message the 'New Voice Message' displayed on the handset disappeared. I figure a previous caller hung up just after the voice mail picked up. It was not long enough so it did not register in the voice mail but somehow registered on the GE phone. Since there wasn't anything registered in the VOICE MAIL to erase the message was 'stuck' on the handset display. As soon as there was a message registered in the VOICE MAIL that could be erased it also cleared the message on the handset.

As i mentioned, if it happens again I'll try it to see if it works, until then I am not going to tempt fate.

It should register once it is charged and put into the cradle of the base station.the channels are selected automatically by the base station.the only time it doesn't is when you try using a handset for 2.4ghz system when the base is 5ghz or vice versa.

Look up the model number and brand and you should find all you need.

One might do this by calling that phone from another in addition to following the instructions found in the manual regarding that message.

Most phone systems use the same AC adapter (wall block) for the base as they use for the remote charging bases. You may have just fried the base AC adapter. See if that is the case with your system and try the working AC adapter with the base to see if it will work or not. Good Luck.

Power cycle the base, if you have a voip phone plug it directly into the modem, if you have ATT, there is a box by the power meter open the lid and try plugging the phone in directly, you will need to power it up as well, or find a jack you know is working and try it there.

Which model is it? This is a shot in the dark, but perhaps it is like call waiting. Push the green talk/flash button. Some Uniden models have a "Intercom/Clear" button. If yours has one, push it. You may have accidentally pressed it during a call. On the "base" there may be a "FINDHS/INTERCOM" BUTTON. Push that button. Hope I helped.

I do not know what model of Uniden cordless you have, but 99% of the time call waiting is provided, if available with your service plan, by your phone service provider only, such as AT&T etc. Check it out.
