If I get desperate I open the phone with small screwdriver and pry it open. Undo internal battery replace and if that doesn't work I've reset the brains by clearing inside dust and pressing buttons with screwdriver tip to sort of short circuit and reset the brains! I figure it's not working properly anyway it might ! It did.

it can be a broadband problem, it might be the filter on your line that is causing the problem, a hum or strange sounds on the line usell cause a drop in calls but sometimes if the filter has fault it will interfere with calls in other ways.

question is are you running a pc and router/ modem on the same land line if so you will need the line filters to the phone base the computer data is transferred by the same land line and there is every possibility that the different frequencies is what is causing the static reference from a uniden trouble shooter ( will be common as the phones use the same medium) lots of noise or static on the line === possible solutions --check for interference from appliances ( microwave , tv etc ) or wireless devices ( baby monitors wifi equipment etc) move the handset base away from the source if you have any device that uses the phone line , add a DSL or telephone line filter to the system it is possible from the times you state that the interference could be coming form a neighbour or further down the line so the filter may be the option available from phone shops or places like JAYCAR

unlikely just go out and buy a new battery for the item remember battery life depends on the data download usage so if you are a big fan of movies and the like , the battery life will be short

On the back of your internet box,theres a hole,put a writing pen in hole and reset it,all the lights on box will go out,then come back on,happens to me sometimes,I have Mediacom.

Try resetting the all the handsets by removing all the batteries for one minute. Then, put them back in and try it. This may reset the units. Also, check the batteries to make sure they are still good. You don't mention what kind of handset you have, but I think many of the different brands have built in voicemail. Are you sure you are not using the service voicemail instead of the handset voicemail?

check power ? Is Ac - DC converter pack plugged into power point ? Is the DC plug plugged into the phone ? does power point work ? Check correct dc voltage being produced from the AC - DC power pack converter ? Isolate other phones on other extensinos to see if uniden is cause or not of no dial tone. You may have another phone off hook and phone line has timed out .

to get a line you have to have the handsets in the stands or you have to use the end button to close the call the phone stands are the battery charger and need the handsets need to there all the time-- unless answering a call --the operation is all the handsets are in the stands being charged a phone call comes in by lifting a handset to answer, the call is connected automatically without pressing the talk button on finishing the call you press end but if you do not replace the handset in the stand but leave it say on the table , when you get another call you have to press the talk button to be connected as it was not picked up from the charger stand and so will not connect automatically when one handset is talking , all the other handsets can listen in and if one call is not ended , there is a line in use sound and no line it is all in the owners manual and if you didn't get the manual , go google and down load it from the manufacturers web page as a pdf version for printing

If that is the Voice Mail Waiting indicator light at the top of the handset and on the base, you need to press Menu on the base. Use the up/down arrows to select VMWI Reset. Press Menu again to select this sub-menu. Use the arrows to highlight Yes and press Menu again. You may need to contact your telephone company to make sure that the voice mail service is still compatible with the Frequency-Shift Keying message notification. Some broadband (particularly DSL) systems can cause telephone interference. Check with the broadband provider if you need a DSL filter (or similar item) to keep the interference from corrupting the VMWI information. The quick answer would be, you should find an option in your phone settings.

Press program/mute button to confirm and you may program the following items: Set Language, Handset Name, Ringer Tone, Ringer Volume, Message Alert, Ring To Answer, Security Code, VIP Melody, Key Tone, Audio Predial, Vibrate Ringer, Area Code, Tone/Pulse, Registration, Deregistration and Default Setting. Ringer Volume From the Handset Setup Menu:1. Press the caller ID-volume ( 6 or 5) button to scroll to the RINGER VOLUME sub-menu. 2. Press program/mute button to enter the menu. SET RINGER 1HI 2LOW 3OFF shows in the display. 3. Use the touch tone pad on the handset to select 1, 2or 3, or use the caller ID-volume ( 6 or 5) button to scroll to your selection. HI is the default setting. 4. Press the program/mute button to save your selection. You will hear a confirmation tone and the new volume setting shows in the display. NOTE: If you turn the ringer OFF, the ringer off icon shows in the display.

Without the model, I can't be sure of the method you need to enable the ringer. Some Uniden phones toggle on a Silent Mode if you press and hold the # key (below 9 on the keypad) for 3+ seconds on one handset. When turned on, the phone will ask how long (1-9 hours) you want the ringer to be disabled for the handset. If no key is pressed within 5 seconds, the handset will not ring until the # key is pressed and held again. Other Uniden phones have a Do Not Disturb mode. This disables the ringer on all handsets.To disable this, press and hold the DND button on the base. The answering system will be turned on if it isn't already on when DND is in use. The other options to mute the ringer include the volume down on the handset when the phone is in standby. Some phones will also adjust the ring tone volume in the menu. I hope this helps.
