3 month old Husqvarna 235.
These machines have had issues with main bearing cages breaking up, this it turn scores the piston and snags the ring in, if there is a good spark and the plug is getting wet i woud whip the muffler off and take a look at the piston through the exhaust port.
Husqvarna 455 rancher shuts off after it gets hot
The tank vent has been an issue, it can not only vacume the tank it can pressurise the tank and cause flooding, the breather is under the starter cover on the top right hand of the tank, i have replaced the original breather to the early 357xp breather, this is like a small white pellet of vion ( a breathable plastic )

Fuel oil ratio should be 50.1 preferably with Husqvarna two stroke oil.
455e rancher oil tank leaks from the rubber hose
There are two hoses, the delivery hose and the pick up hose, to remove the delivery hose, start by removing the chain brake ( make sure is de activated before removing by pulling the hand guard fully back to the top handle ) now remove the clutch, there are two cut a ways in the clutch centre so as to insert a flat screw driver, now strike the end of the screw driver with a suitable hammer to jar the clutch off against the compression of the saw ( the clutch is just spun onto the crank with a left hand thread ) once off remove the sprocket and bearing, now remove the screw securing the silver protection plate over the bar pad and remove it, you can now just lift away the delivery hose, to replace the pick up you will have to remove the screw securing the oil pump and remove it, the pick up hose has a moulded grommet in the centre so you will have to diss lodge it to pry the hose from the oil tank, check out the web for sellers of these components, the part no.s are below.
Bar thru the chain, pulled the side cover off with
I just had the problem of not being able to put the cover back on because the brake wwas engaged when I took it apart. What I did was use a #4 allen wrench and take the brake lever off being careful of the spring on the brake handle. There is a screw on both sides. I then put the cover loosely in a vise, and using the brake handle reset the brake to the correct position. It went back together easily. Probably took me ten minutes.
How can i tighten the chain
John;
if you have used all the adjustment I recommend you replace the chain. Take it with you to a local saw shop (I prefer Stihl chain to all others) for use as a replacement pattern. Ask the technician making your replacement whether he thinks it a good idea to remove a link from your existing chain. He is the only one with expertise, in a position to provide an informed answer, and he has the necessary tools to accomplish it. If the chain breaks at speed it can be ugly.
If you take your saw with you the technician (mid day, mid week) will likely remove the old and install the new chains as part of the service. Ask to watch. There is a procedure in your OM. HTH

I need to know the right angle to sharpen my chainsaw
If your saw still has the original bar and chain, it was supplied with a .325" pitch chain and you'll need a 3/8" round file with a sharpening guide to properly sharpen it.
Here's a link to the Husqvarna site to the Rancher 455 models so you can select the correct manual to download, that matches your particular saw, based on the year of manufacture, etc.
There is some excellent information about maintaining your saw, along with a really good guide with step-by-step instructions for proper sharpening.

If you're having trouble figuring out the right manual for your saw, use the online Customer Support page and they'll reply.
Hope you find this Very Helpful - Best regards!
I have a husqvarna 137
Hi marcus,
The bar and chain oil goes into the oil tank on the side. The oil for the engine is mixed with the gas before filling the gas tank.
Hope that helps.
