Howdy, I've taken apart my paslode framing nailer.

Hi,

Here is a tip that I wrote about the Paslode nailers and the problems that can come up with them.

I also have a link to the Paslode manuals which contain Paslode cleaning and troubleshooting guides.

If you need parts for your Paslode, there also is a link for a site that sells the Paslode nailer parts.

I have a 900420 gas

You need to remove the combustion chamber assembly and check for spark, remove 4 screws from filter cover and 2 screws from nose mount then carefully slide the assembly off, fit a good battery and press down on the roller arm below the fan, the fan should run, operate the trigger while the fan is running and you should get a spark, if not you will have an electrical fault, if you get spark bend the roller up slightly and see if that solves your problem

Are o rings something that

Orings are similar to piston rings and seals of car engine. They keep pressure /compression at peak level. Carbon buildup dirt/ grime tend to cut orings (fine scratches on orings and metal where orings make contact can be seen with maginfy glass). Air powered nailers have same problem. Air carries in dirt grime and carbon deposits leaving/ migrating from air compressir piston/cylinder/heads/discharge tube and dirt that enters hose from tool box. Debris and water cut orings lowering efficiency. Any urethaine parts inside gun will fail over time using the gun or not. Urethaine is affected by heat, water, certain types of oil. Fuel for impusle will lose power when canisters are kept in hot tool box. Always check expire date on fuel/ buy newest stock for best results.

Paslode impulse 900420 cannot figure out

it goes under the large plate, you need to remove the screws holding the nose in place (large black piece with screws on either side) sometimes this is a 2 piece part. Under the plate where the lockout bar sits is a small recess and you will need to start the spring and then push it into place with the lockout. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Firing pin keeps jamming everytime

check for a jammed nail in the nose area and also check for the nose itself and or the driver blade being bent. Also when was the last time tool was cleaned and serviced, that might have some impact on usage.

When i put thew gun

ok, start with checking gas delivery ,then with total clean. If still malfunction, check the setting of lower probe(part 66). I've owned my guns for 11 years and do all my own servicing. Most if not nearly all problems are caused by dirty components...cheers

The framing nailer first started

ive found that sometimes where the batt is inserted into the gun theres two contacts down there wit a rubber pads the contacts rest against. check and see with a flash lite if one of the rubber pads has pulled away and wraped itself around the contact, if so pull it out with needle nose pliers or what ever works.if not the problem make sure your batt is good some will read 6 volts but will have no or week current. worst case repAIR SHOP.

Since friend un blocked nail,fan

somehow the safety switches have become jammed. I would suggest taking the front cylinder off again and checking the o ring at the top where the fan is for being pinched and then without the front cylinder cycle the unit. BE CAREFUL with the fan, insert the battery and push on the trigger switch, fan should come on and go off after a couple seconds. Then towards the top you will see a roller type switch, depress (watch for fan blades) and again fan should come on and go off after a couple seconds. For the final test depress and HOLD the roller switch and then engage the trigger and you should see fire, try this a couple times, if all works then check the lower probe for free movement (depress probe a couple times and watch the combustion chamber for movement to the top) relube the o ring and be careful not to pinch when reassembling. It sounds compllicated but it is really quite simple. Let me know if you need more help
