When I try to brew

You a have a blockage in the spouts. This is caused by a number of things:
  • You used the wrong grind coarseness in the pre-grind
  • you used the wrong cleaning table for the machine (this is the most common)
  • you have an insect in the spout
  • The plumbing system has a fault, where the switch that re-routes the water is stuck
Try the following:
  • Take a paper clip and bend it open
  • Then that the point of the bent open peice, and insert in each one of the spouts and check if there is a blockage
  • if you feel something or something comes out, see if the rinse works, try a few times
If that does not solve the problem then you may need to get a service tech to look at it

Jura Capresso Impressa S9- no steam

I had a similar problem. I took off the side and rear cover, followed the hose that comes from the steam wand to the rear of hte unit. It enters a solenoid made by ACL Italy. I dismantled the solenoid unit by disconnecting the two hose ends, removing the relay, and unscrewing the plunger unit (vertical pipe). The plunger unit internals should move freely up and down like a piston in a cylinder , powered by a small spring. In my unit, this plunger was calcified and seized. I soaked it in boiling water and pressed on it gently several times and it unstuck. I put it all back together again and presto! Good luck

Jura Capresso Impressa S9 -water won't pull into the unit

We have the same problem after installing a new filter (after 5years of perfect usage & no problem or maintenan)ce. An engineer told us to take the filter out completely & try to draw off water...if it does, do a de-scale IMMEDIATELY (using only recommended product) because the machine may be calcified. If that doesn't work, it may be the sprung sensor under the water carriage which may be blocked(with limescale) or broken...OR the little mesh sensor in the main body of the machine (which is located under the water filter). I am trying this tonight, otherwise its an engineer callout for collection & repair!

Jura S90 water leak

This is a POSSIBLE solution: First, where is the leak? are you getting water into the used grounds storage tank? If so you have a bad gasket around the grounds damper. Pressurized water flows through that and into the system to make coffee when all is well. When the gasket, which is nothing more than a large "O" ring breaks the water spews out and gets into the used grounds and waste tray. This is an easy fix except for one thing: it's very difficult to get to the part! The "O" ring can be found at just about any good auto parts store but you must have the old one off to get the proper size and guage. It's a rather thick ring. On my capresso I was able to get the old ring off by feeling around and using a small hooked pick. Use a mirror and flashlight to see it and MAKE SURE TO UNPLUG the unit FIRST. The damper I'm talking about is just behind the flap you'll feel in the cavity where the used grounds/waste tray fits. It's the round object with lots of tiny holes in it an a screw in the middle. The "O" ring goes around the outside of that damper nearest the top of the machine. It's tricky to get to but can be done. The only other solution is to send the machine back to Capresso and have them do it as they have the proper tools to totally dismantle the machine to more easily do the repair.

Jura S90 hasn't been used for many years. Close Tap Message

When I got my S90 I didn't have a manual or any paperwork on it. I had the same problem and found that the Selector knob for coffee or hot water (in the upper right area) was on hot water. Once I turned it back to the coffee selection I could use the rest of the functions. I hope this helps.

Malfuntion 8

Hi.
I had been getting Malfunction 8 for some time, and letting the machine cool (turning it off) for 15 minutes was the only way to not get the error. It always sounded like it was "straining" to make coffee. It would generally try 3 times to clear itself before the Malfunction 8, I'm sure those with the problem will recognize the symptoms. All the rinse/ decalcify/on/off stuff was temporary. We lived with this for 5 months or so. Finally, it would only get a Malfunction 8, and so became unusable, and we were considering sending it in for repair. This was the second round of Malfunction 8 problems; the first seemed to fix itself for an unknown reason. On to the fix: Unplug, remove the water tank, pull out the bucket and tray, and allow to cool if necessary. Now - smaller fingers are better - reach into the machine, palm up. Feel as far back as you can, then work your way forward, toward yourself. As you move toward you will feel a flat area about an inch wide (measuring front to back). Just back of this (away from yourself), you'll feel a crack about 3/8" to 1/2" wide. Push your fingers up into this area and feel around. You will probably feel stuff that feels like light, chunky rocks. Break these up and they should fall out. Again, small fingers are better and once I got an idea of what I was doing, I described it to my wife and she did it. There is a tendency to not feel far enough back in the machine, so be sure to find the flat place at the lowest point of the mechanism then go just past it and up to find the crack. Pulled out about five crusty chunks of burned, almost charcoal like compressed coffee. I also got about a foot of plumber's tape (the metal stuff with holes in it that's useful for just about everything) bent it with a 4" radius, and worked it up into the crack to break up any stuff we couldn't reach. Work at this until no more stuff is in there. Now, tilt the machine toward you and "pat" firmly all over to jog anything left into the crack area, and check for chuncks again. When that's done, put everything back together, move the machine to where you can work from the top. Don't start it up. Get a flashlight and a wooden spoon. Open the top "pre-ground" door and peer in. With the wooden spoon handle, poke in there and tap everything to break up any stuck things. I thought a shopvac with a small tube might work here, too, but wasn't sure whether something bad might happen. Anyway, tap tap tap about 100 times. Now start up the machine. Keep peering in; watch how the mechanism works, and don't trap the spoon handle! Now, try to brew some coffee. While it's actually squeezing out the coffee, tap some more on the "closed" mechanism to free up any more stuck coffee. Do this whole procedure 3-4 times to be sure, but don't drink any of the coffee it brews: The first ejected puck looked really aweful - it looked like about 1/3 moldy coffee; of course the machine had been sitting for 3 weeks, probably stuck in the middle of a puck ejection cycle. Anyway, the machine should run good as new. Good luck and please comment as to whether it works for you.

I have a jura capresso S7. I am finding water in

This is normal, after each cycle the brew unit will empty the drainvalve for excess water, this will ensure that the water used for each new cup is fresh from the watertank.

Jura Impressa xs 90 error code 5

The Error 5 indicates that the machine has been too cold. This can be from transportation or if the machine has been exposed for cold temperature for some time. If that is so, keep the machine in a warm place a few hours and then try again.

If this doesn`t help, it can be that the thermofuse or the sensor on the thermoblock is broken, Then this has to be changed by a technician.

Jura S9 Capresso Machine "Fill System" Message

I think you use too fine grist on the grinder, or the coffeebeans are really dark and moisty. Try to set the grinder to a coarser grist, for dark roasted coffee it`s not recomended to to use any finer than medium grist. However, the sieve in the brewing unit could be clogged, and you need to clean this out. Put a finger up in the brew unit just along the grounds blade, you will probably find a lot of old fine coffeeground up the. Clean it up as best as possible, and then try to make coffee with coarser grist. If this helps, it`s smart to run a cleaning program to be on the safe side.

If nothing of this helps, you don`t have a choice, you have to send it for service, then the brew unit has to be dissasembled and cleaned from the inside.

It leaks water out the bottom

Here is how I solved this problem. I had a small needle nose vice grip, the 'nose' is about 1 1/2 inches long. I tried to clamp the oval shaped screw heads in the vice grip in a perpendicular manner, ie the vice grip was extending away from the side of the coffee maker. There is a recess in the plastic where the screw heads are seated so they are flush when tightened. The ends of the vice grip were slightly too large to fit in this recess. So I ground down the ends of the vice grip so it could fit in the recess and grip the oval end of the screw. After clamping it tightly, I used an adjustable wrench to turn the vice grip and the screw to successfully remove them. I replaced them with normal Phillips screws during the reassembly.

Jura Impressa S9 Coffee Maker displays "REPLACE NOW". Can't find it in the manual, replaced the filter anyway but message won't go away. Now what??

Ah the Subaru Impressa with S9 engine. :>D Not quite "says it all" Bryan. So..... Question edited to add the maker and 'what it is', a Coffee Maker. Question moved from Cars and Trucks to Jura Impressa category. When you add a maker, you are offered the correct category, 'Impressa' gives you generic Cars and Trucks. You have a 'Replace Now' message that no one else has! https://www.google.com/search?q=Jura+Impressa+S9+%22replace+now%22 However, try this. Remove the Grounds Bin. Disconnect from the power. Replace the bin, reconnect power. This is your manual https://www.seattlecoffeegear.com/assets/user-manuals/jura/jura-impressa-c9-user-manual.pdf Press CTRL+F, and type 'replace' and press enter. There are 16 mentions. I think it refers to the grounds bin being not fully placed. I have come across this many times, there is a small infra-red sensor or a proximity sensor.
