Had complete tuneup on bike.

Get the starter and battery connection checked. Also check if the battery voltage is correct and battery is fully charged up to 12 volts. If the battery is not properly charged, it can be low battery issue. Also if battery is loosing charge again n again, then it can be problem with voltage regulator. The voltage regulator is not charging the battery.Check power to the starter with ignition turned on, if there is no power to starter, that means the battery to starter connection is loose or faulty.Or the starter it self is faulty.--------if it doesnt crank/start check the battery, battery cables etc, if it cranks but does not start. Verify that you have spark, and fuel.-------
This should help.thanks.Helpmech.

Help replacing brake pads

pads are simple enough maintenance should be only 2 nuts holding on each caliper take of the caliper cant go wrong there when off have a look at the nuts and bolts holding different things when caliper is off there should be a pin running along the top of the pads holding them in place remove the pin should be easily done with an allen key the tricky part is getting the piston back if they are slightly seized for this will need a vice grips to squeeze them back will take a bit i have spent 45 minutes before trying to gte one piston back if it gets too hard or wont move then release some break fluid there should be a small nipple? on the caliper to bleed some out but dont let to much out when all pistons fully back put on the pads and screw the holding pin back in place then put them back on the discs easy peasy lol back is similar enough and if your first time then would reccomend taking them off and familirise yourself with doing them cant go to wrong also when calipers are off handy to give them a cleaning cloth and wd40 will do the trick but be careful not to get it on the pads will decrease braking for a bit hope you get on ok

My bikes been standing for a couple of months and

If your bike sits outside it can be moisture build up inside the engine. White oil indicates water in the oil. I would recommend changing the oil prior to riding the bike. Make sure that you check the coolant level to verify that it is not low. Warm the engine up and then drain the oil. The will help flush the moisture out of the engine. Once you have new oil in the engine go for a ride and check the oil again. If you still have moisture in the engine it may have additional problems such as water pump seal or even a head gasket issue.

Thanks and I hope that this helps.

Hi, is a rattle in

Engine rattle could be all sorts of things from hydraulic tappet, they should clear within seconds, Piston Slap, that will get quieter as the engine gets hot, to little end bearings or worn rings.
Personally I would expect a substantial discount if I were to purchase it. But having said all that, if the oil is dirty and old, an oil change may cure it.
Your gamble!

My oil light won't go off after starting. Does

The easiest thing to check is the oil switch wiring. Take the wire off the sensor to check for poor insulation. If it goes out take the switch out and try another one before taking the bottom end off to check out the pump. Fingers crossed!

When changing the oil where should the oil leves

The oil level should be in the upper 1/3 of the window when you are done. the bike needs to be straight upright. after you have added the new oil, run the engine for 1 minute and then shut it off. Let the oil settle ( about 2 minutes ) and then check the level. Add until the level is in the upper 1/3 of the window.

I popped my seat off

you have probably sorted this out by now, anyway its easy to say replace in reverse order, so i wont,
you dont say what bike it is fitted to, i would first sugest you have a look at the undeside of the seat, you want to observe at the front of the seat, you will find a forward facing lug of plastic, (if your seat is plastic) around the tank area," on the frame you should see a cross member that the tank itself bolts to", the plastic lug should fit under this first, holding up the rear of the seat slightly, slide the lug under the crossmember untill it is forward as far as it will go then lower the rear of the seat into place you should hear a clicking noise as the seat locks into place WARNING MAKE SURE THE BIKES KEYS ARE IN THE IGNITION AND NOT UNDER THE SEAT AT THIS POINT. Seats do varey and some have more than 1 front fixing, some are made from steel, some hinge, and some bolt instead of locking, some have obscured bolts behind panels, and so on, ask yourself how easy did it come off. if you are still having problems with this seat contact me with make and model and i will do my best to help, good luck and happy motoring, paul
