    Sir_Lugnut,

thanks, we tried loosening exhaust to releive any back pressure...no dice. vehicle will run 55 down the level hiway but not take grade. I suspect an item that is sensitive to engine load, dont think we have looked for a map sensor, ( i am not a chevy guy) but we do not get codes, I guess the map sensor could be a fixed value and not give a code.

This is a v-6 friday dealer put in a dist cap rotor wires ect. They had no codes to go on either. I am still suspect of fuel delivery myself owner is looking into rigging up a presure gage to monitor while driving.

thanks for your help, will advise when we get r done.

Hi there , sounds to me that one more of the valves is not shutting all the way or the piston rings are wore or broken or the timing chain is wore or loose

How old is the Catalytic Converter, sometimes they will get clogged up and affect performance.
Good luck

When going up hills I lose momentum I changed the plugs, wires, and 02 sensor and it goes up to 3 rpms why isn't it fixed?

First check for any codes, then test vacuum with a good vac guage. When reving engine the vacuum should drop and then climb back up. Check for vacume leaks by spraying carb cleaner at any vacume hoses and intake areas but not at air filter.

then also check compression as well as look at spark plugs to see that they are all tan and no differences in any one. Go to YouTube and search for how to test engine with a vacuum gauge.

Most any problem with an engine can be diagnosed with a vacuums gauge but do use a second test method as you have learned replacing parts hoping to fix a problem is costly.

Chevy uplander going uphill sputters and check engine light blinks multiple times?

Usually a sputter will occur under load conditions like going up hill from a lack of fuel. Start by changing the fuel filter.

Jerks and looses power on hills and flat land no engine light comes on what can be wrong?

When you said it feels like its not getting enough gas, you may be right.
Since you have replaced the fuel filter, and you are not getting a check engine light, my suggestion would be to check fuel pressure with a gauge. The fuel pump may be weak.

the converter is what is restricting power from engine. causes of a bad converter are: decreased engine power, indicated by low rpms on the tach. hesitating or bucking during acceleration, the car will loose power going up a hill. if engine runs hotter then usual and coolant is up to par, it may indicate a bad converter. also black smoke from tail pipe is another indication of a bad converter. good- day!!

My car cut off while driving. wouldnt start back up. check the gas line to the engine and no gas is coming through. what could be my problem and do i fix it

its the fuel pump going bad and also your fuel filter might need a new filter because if the fuel filter is plugged up to the point that the fuel pump is working too hard to try to pump the gasoline through the filter and can destroy the fule pump so if there is no gasoline coming through the gas lines that means check for filter and pump. Usually some times you can hear the fuel pump working on some models like a humming sound in the back of car.

Check engine light is frequently a loose fuel cap, but the other problem could be a bad fuel pump, or a clogged fuel filter. Try the fuel filter first - its the cheapest.
