when you have problems as dangerous as this described , take it to an accredited power steering professional shop and have it properly diagnosed
a "fix" by a local mechanic may just lull you onto a false sense of security that will be disastrous at the wrong time

This sounds like your turn signal relay is sticking. If it is sticking it does not matter the position of your turn signal arm. Check the relay. It will be in your fuse box under the hood.

You have to disassemble the steering column. to get it lock cylinder out...
DO NOT DRILL OR SLIDE HAMMER ANYTHING on the steering column!! ( that's red neck car thief ****!!!)

Disconnect the battery before you start this ..

I don't know liter size of engine? I need fuel pressure spec?
If you have the spider fuel system, that system is noted for problems. Usually the start up fuel pressure is 60--66 psi, after it is running, it will run with less pressure.
There used to be service bulletin on the spider fuel system for sticking poppet valves on first start up of the morning. Then it would usually run fine the rest of the day. The fix was to clean the poppet valves. The cleaning procedure I saw was a shop procedure.
If it isn't a fuel issue, engine cranking, the vehicle systems get battery voltage, engine running the systems get alternator voltage, that can be several volt difference. Any applicable trouble codes?

Check power and ground at the coil with the key on. Always a possibility you bought a bad coil.

Drain oil.
put truck on lift or jack stands. Do not attempt on jacks, that's how people get killed.
Unbolt all of the bolts holding the pan on.
remove pan.
remove gasket leftovers from pan and block
place gasket on pan, and bolt it up.

The easiest way to track down a miss fire is to use a pyometer on the exhaust ports to see which one is not firing. When you have which cylinder is not firing you can check and make sure that plug is firing, if the fuel injector is metering, or if that cylinder is low on compression.

You need to remove the steering wheel , turn signal control and in the steering column you will find a pin that holds the tumblers in place for the key switch. You can remove the pin and then remove the key tumbler and replace it. Go to You Tube and they have videos on just what you need to do to remove the steering wheel and etc. Hope this helps.

the fuel level sender is inside the fuel tank, part of the fuel pump assembly. did you or was the tank replaced before??they may have bent the float arm on reassembly . you can buy the sender from your parts supply store .you will have to drop the tank to do this it clips onto the side of the pump assembly. run it almost dry first as the tank is big n very heavy even 1/4 full. you can try to bend the old arm

but its very hard on the "sender" as for level indicator full to empty, think of the shape of the tank narrow at top to widest point in the middle (full to half) wide middle to narrow bottom( half to empty)

its just an overall volume thing

The klunk you hear is the noenoid/bendix engaging but iseems power is lacking to turn the starter and therefore the engine..Some suggestions. Disconnect battery cables. Using small steel brush or a made to order brush, brush posts and cable clamps to remove corrosion. Reconnect and try. Also check the hot battery lead(red) at the starter for itghtness.
